Not Staying Long!

If you are fortunate to move in a building were the people are decent, care about their surroundings and are hard working you will make it at Mill Run. The new refurbished apartments are nice. Hopefully, the apartment you rent will not need any services from the ghost crew they call maintenance. Here are the downsides:
1. Parking - is a nightmare...I wouldn't even think of having a get together because my guests would not find parking. Mill Run issues each apartment 1 parking sticker. You can park on the side streets around the complex and in the general lot. If you want another parking space you have to pay $25.00 a month for a reserved spot. I wouldn't mind, but the area is dark and poorly lit. I've found a space after a night of partying, but the walkways are NOT and I REPEAT ARE NOT LIT. It is dangerous.
2. The ONE secruity guard for over a 1000 units should be named Houdini. No you see him no you don't. Oh except when he is drinking and gabbing with the residents where he thinks no one see him.
3. Higher than usual ROBBERIES.
4. Management has no respect for the tenants or they privacy. They decided to convert the heating system to gas and the tenant will be responsbile for the heat (they dont' mention that in their advertisements). They told us when the plumbers were coming and nothing since. These guys walk in and out the apartments move the furniture and do not put it back.
5. The lease specifies, second floor tenants agree to carpet 80% of the floors to reduce the noise. I wish they would enforce this...however, I don't hear too much noise from the neighboor I share a common wall with.
6. Don't live on the Manor drive side. All of the pictures used in the ad, residential services and the leasing office is on Walker. They have to keep that pretty to sucker you in. The one major snow storm in 2007 left the Manor drive side unsholved and fending for yourself. The Walker Avenue side did get the snow cleared on the second day.
7. Any interactions with management...do it in writing.
8. 2007 was my first winter...people have complained about the heating system, but I don't like a lot of heat so it didn't bother me at all.
Good points:
1. Aesthetically appealing apartment for the price. Centrally located.
