Worst Apartment on this Earth

I have lived in my apartment for a year and I am so ready to move out. No doubt I always find people moving in and out, since I assume people who stay there are ready to move out after cursing their luck for signing up a lease here. Also there are so many empty apartments in the complex that you better bargain with the manager. We did end up bringing our rate down by 150 bucks. The reason we moved in was for the lower rent. We did notice and read the negative things about the apartment but overall we were saving 250 bucks a month compared to apartment nearby which was important with our financial situation. Now things are looking good for us and we are reading to move in a better place.

Lets talk about the good things first as they are few

1) Rent is less compared to the apartments near by and you might be able to rent a garage which is important for storage
2) Maintenance folks do come by on time to fix the issues

Lets talk about the negative points or bad things

1) Apartment managers are the most rude people on this earth. They behave as if they own you and your money. The head office is in mountainside and they expect you to mail the rent check every month, so spending that 40 cents extra every month is a waste as they can collect the check in the office and secondly a hassle as you have to mail the check ahead of time in order for it to reach by end of month. The management is so much into money that if your check reaches couple of days in advance i.e. by 28 of month, they deposit on that day itself and dont even wait for the first of next month. You have to make sure you hold enough money into your account.

2) Apartment windows are the worst, they leak air all the time and dust just settles down in the aparatment so quickly. If you are looking for a full time cleaning job on top of your full time professional job then you can stay in the apartment, otherwise dont even think of it

3) The air-conditioner looks like its from the 80's. It creates so much noise that you have to turn the volume up to even listen to the shows on tv. Also the airconditioner doesnot even cool the living room, it just cools the place upto 5 feet away from it. On top of it, it consumes a hell lot of electricity. You can easily expect your electricity bill to go up by 100-150 dollars in summer months.

4) The heating system is the worst. You cannot control the heat that blows into the apartment. The apartment maintains the heat at 72-74 F all the time and hence when the temperature outside goes to 60 or 70 you cannot turn the heat off and you have high temperature outside plus all the heat that comes from the vent makes the temperature in the home go up to 80-85 F and then you have to open the windows to let the heat out which brings in more dust. Everyone is talking about energy conservation and these people are wasting it by building inefficient heating system.

5) The wood floors are squeaky, so better get your apartment on the second floor or else you will be hearing the squeak 24/7 and its not a good feeling. The wood floors are not laid in properly so they have these openings in the end through which dust flows on the floor and in the house continuously creating a maintenance headache.

6) Also when it snows, they dont even clean the snow properly. The snow removal folks wait for 3-4 days after it snows for the snow to melt so they can save on money that they have to dishout to the snow removal folks. If the snow doesnot melt in those days, then they think of removing it. In those 3-4 days the snow turns into solid ice which is slippery to walk over, and might end up hurting yourself.

7) I think the most imcompetent builders might have build this apartment complex. The bell for your guests to ring is on the opposite door of the apartment and not on the side from where people walk in. So the delivery guys never walk over to the other side to ring the bell and then you always end up missing your packages or they leave the package on the door.

8) Laundry facilities are the worst. Most of the time the washers and dryers dont work and you end up loosing your money as they are coin operated. Hence I never found any apartment residences ever doing laundry in the apartment laundry facilities. There is a coin operated laundry at a walkable distance and they do a great job. Also different laundry facilities within the apartment provide more dryer time for the same amount of money, so search for the one that gives you the maximum bang for your buck. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq

I agree 100% on your review, I just moved out and I must say, it's a pleasure being out of there. The lease is a joke, nobody follows rules, you have dogs, cats, ac units in windows, kids running rampant, I had 25 of them one day outside my windows playing football. The whole place is a joke, I'm getting sick just thinking of it. Good riddance
