Building 26

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004
I have lived in building 26 for a year now and am amazed at all the negitive ratings on this site. The apartment I moved into was brand new, never been lived in!! What a change from the 1,800 I paid for years on the upper east side (71st) in the city. That place was falling apart and had an actual "massage parlor" in the apartment next to mine. For a little more money this building is heaven. The pool is worth it alone. I would suggest they keep it open longer (at least the jaccuzi) instead of 4 months of the year. I have heard pretty bad stories about the tower building. I do hear my upstairs neighbors but It?s an apartment!!! What do people expect. Rent a house down the road if some noise bothers you. Where did all these reviewers live before here' You can?t get this in the city for less than 3,500 a month!!I would like to know which building was flooded from the previous review. Here are the cons to living here
The garage door stays open (have seen maintenance trying to fix this numerous times)
If you spend alot of time online this internet they give you just plain sucks! It put a virus in my computer and found out it was due to all the pop ups. I can?t remember the last time I came home and didn?t have at least 20 pop ups on the screen. And I have a pop up blocker. It is worse then AOL. I never had to use a pop up blocker with any other internet provider.
If you have 2 people who live in your apartment make the first shower fast. By the end of the 2nd it will turn cold. It has enough hot water to fill the bathtub.
Now this isn?t the buliding fault. It is all of you inconsiderate dog owners. I watch so many of you take your dogs into the grass courtyard and not clean up after them!! When I see you in the elevator I want to tell you to use the dogwalk. Thats what its there for. Snow on the ground does not mean leave your dog crap on the ground for someone else to clean up. Snow melts. I feel like walking outside and handing you a baggie to put it in. Please people you are all adults and it?s just dissusting. Your dog barking outside my window is not as cute as you think. Please take your dog to the dogwalk and stop being so lazy.
I see security all the time outside. Yes they aren?t doing much but I?m thankful for that. If they were always on a call it would mean this place is unsafe. During the blackout someone broke into the model home and the security was there so fast and handled the situation wonderfully.
Someone comented on this site that the deli is too high priced. Come on, this guy is just trying to make a living. Iv?e never been in there when its crowded. The man who owns the store is very friendly and is always asking for suggestions on how to make the store better. This deli is priced the same as any deli on the upper east side in the city. But big difference in Jersey. Have you noticed that it?s hard to find a store that sells alcohol here. It?s not like NYC. Deli?s in the city make a killing on alcohol. It?s too much money for the license here. So if that poor guy in the deli charges more, give him a break. If we pay this much in rent don?t think his isn?t just as expensive.
Direct TV does go out when it storms but that happens anywhere.
Everyone I have met here is very nice and says hello.
I haven?t had any problems with management. I speak to management every once in a while and they are very nice to me.
I am renewing my lease soon and am curious what they will offer this year.
I love so many things about this place that they far outway any negitive.
I would suggest movie rentals because the nearest video store is miles away. But they do have movie showings every week in the movie room.
Parents should keep a better watch on their children because they have been distoying the recreational center. Maybe the building should make it 18 and over unless using the basketball court.
I would tell anyone to move here, just move into the new buildings.
