Very Bad Value for the Money
From: kensmithDate posted: 1/25/2002
Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2001
1. Very bad security. There are too many access ways into the building. The first five floors are connected to the parking deck which has limited access when the garage door is not broken. When the garage door is broken a minimum wage security guard will ask for your unit number and then let you in. (Great Security''')
2. The doors between the parking deck and apartment are electronically locked. However, the locks do not always close so you can normally find at least one door open. (Bad Security)
3. Packages - they lose your packages or tell you have a package and then cannot find it.
4. Rent increase - they raised my rent over 10% on my first renewal. I did not renew and simply found a less expensive place down the street.
5. The Parking Deck is a death trap because some of the residents drive around the deck at high speeds.
6. The amenities such as computer room, fax, printer, fitness center were always out of order and when management was informed they did nothing.
7. Electric heat and no insulation equals 250+ monthly electric bills.
8. Summary The actual cost of this place (1 bedroom) would have been $2200 rent + $250 electric/heat + $150 ferry + $44 bus to ferry = $2,644. You could get a less expensive one bedroom in NYC. Plus there is an annual amenities fee of $500. What a rip off. Yes it is like an overpriced vacation.
Great concept but very bad execution.
