Great place to live

Lived here for 6 months. Not perfect, but not the nightmare other folks are complaining about. First of, we've gotten to know management by first name and they are very good. For that matter, we know concierge, leasing, and the secretaries by first name too. That's a good way to really figure out if management is as bad as some here say or if the complainers are just expecting too much from a RENTAL! We live in building 30, not the high-rise. Very, very quiet, beautiful views. Finishes are average, but we knew that going in. Construction is fine--minimal noise above and almost none to the sides. HVAC works perfectly, except when temps were close to 100, our unit strained to keep pace. But that's not unusual anywhere I've lived. Convenient, clean, useful amenities. Guest parking stinks. Resident parking is very good. We have our own hot water heater so no problem with water temps (high rise residents have the problems I think). Maintenance has responded to all of our requests in 24 hours or less and when they couldn't resolve something immediately, they let us know the timeline (and stuck to it). If we asked for a status update, they were willing to provide one any time. Maintenance guys are all great and willing to sweat their brains out to solve problems. Highly recommend living here, unless you are accustomed to paying 6,000/month for ultra-luxury living. This place isn't perfect, but coming from Manhattan, it's great.

Question for you--You've only lived there 6 months and you've had how many maintenance requests resolved? And you know all the maintenance people names? Really not convincing me that it's a great place to live. Yes, you're RENTING so what, people "sweat their brains out" for their money and should expect the best for what they pay. Idiot!

Sorry, I never looked back at the comments. To "bunchofbs", we had one maintenance issue in the first six months (a big one -- leak created by faulty construction). The issue had never before been identified, so it took the efforts of pretty much all the maintenance people to deal with what really was a builders problem. Maintenance did a great job under trying circumstances and dealt with something well out of the ordinary in a "crisis" situation. Bad luck for us. We ended up shifting to a new unit and never again needed maintenance's assistance. The old unit was gutted and fixed as far as I know. I'm sorry that you are so bitter, "bunchofbs", perhaps you had a bad experience and are willing to extrapolate that to the entire community. That would overstate the negative and ignore the many positives.
