I have to say that this is the WORST place you could ever live. The building is made of timber frames, and plaster board, which means you can hear every noise from above and next door, the walls are that thin that you can even hear your neighbor talking to their partner, or hear what they are watching on TV.

If you are unlucky to get an apartment close to the elevator then you will have the pleasure of hearing the ping every time it is called and someone gets in or out..

With the way the weather is in this country, i would give these building 5 to 10 years max before they either crumble or get blown away or flood.

the people in the building have absolutely no consideration for anyone else in the building, they play their music really load, constant banging and crashing.

Dogs barking every day, there has been many instances of dogs shi..ing in the hall ways and no one clearing it up. (this was posted on the building bulletin board) if you want proof.

If you notice that the buildings are so close to the Hudson that they have had to pump concrete into the ground to keep the buildings from slipping into the river.

We have heard that these buildings are built on a former toxic waste dump, however I cant confirm this..

In terms of security, if you have a problem with your apartment and require maintenance to come out, and you state that they are not to enter without you there.... they ignore it..... We had requested maintenance and they knocked once on the door, (at the time i was on the phone so I couldnt answer the phone) then suddenly the door opened and the maintenance man entered.... What a shock he got when he saw me standing there.

You can not trust the staff, or the security. if you have a problem with anything or anyone, they tell you to call the police.

If you are thinking of buying!! ask to see under the wood flooring and carpet, we looked at a few apartments with the thought of buying (then i woke up) one particular apartment had a crack from one side of the apartment to the other, this was caused because the building is sinking into the Hudson and the ground underneath is dropping, and the concrete is cracking under the pressure.

To summarize...

Riverbend is a great place if you want a water home... nosy and want to hear everything that is going on with your neighbors.

You dont have any valuables, and you dont mind dealing with people that have a problem listening and understanding.
