Mgmt can't keep up with the growth

I have been here for two years and would have been signing my lease for a third year.
I have read all the comments on this site and unfortunately a lot of them are true. The turnover in the leasing office is scary. Mgmt does not return phone calls and you should get a name of the person you spoke to so you have something to fall back on...better yet...put everything in email form so you have it in writing.

I had a lot of issues when I first moved in...the phone did not work, my T1 line did not work and this was for several months, never was my rent adjusted to offset this issue. The worst was when there was a fire on the third floor and this brown gunk came thru the vents in the bathrooms and was all over everything. I called the front desk and was told my name would be put on a list. I then found out the gunk was anti freeze...my sister and her husband came over and helped me clean it up...thank God I crate my dog because that could have been a worse nightmare for me...what really was confusing, mgmt did nothing to offset my inconviences, they just wanted them to be forgotten...and I have pics of the mess, so I am not exaggerating. Twice, someone tried to break into my apartment late at night, they just walked up off the Riverwalk and when I called the police I was told that a lot of stuff goes on down there that mgmt does not want their tenants to know about...

Things settled down and life was good for a while, then Riverbend West was sold and now it seems that is where mgmt is concentrating their efforts. The complex feels dirty now. The construction workers throw their lunch bags, soda cans, and beer bottles all over the place. The garages are a mess and I am waiting one day to come down and find the entire ceiling laying on the roof of my car...water coming out of electricl piping has to be dangerous...and that has been an issue since I moved in and has just gotten worse. People leave so much junk in their parking spaces it is ridiculous and mgmt keeps saying they are going to throw everything out, but they never do...and I guess tenants don't realize that leaving your childs car seat on the ground in the garage is disgusting, maybe you don't notice the large rat traps for the river rats that walk around in the middle of the night when we are all asleep and probably curl up on your child's car seat.

The fire in building 30 was a little frightening, many rumors went around that the sprinklers were not working or had been turned off for service...but those are just rumors.

I don't know what the answer is, but I would really like to be given the chance to adivse them on how to work all of this out...the letters that they leave in everyone's doors are usually found on the ground, and the tone of them are not always nice...and then putting your rent bill in your door...not a good idea either, you are leaving personal information in a envelope that anyone can come along and open and use.

I could go on and on, but I won't...I will be leaving because more things have gone on and I just don't feel safe anymore in the complex. With PF Changs, so many people walk around the complex, walk into the buildings, there is no control over who belongs and who doesn't. Another sad thing,
I heard that the tennis courts will become a high rise. The ferry moving closer at first looks great but I think it will add a lot more traffic that doesn't belong in the complex.

Unfortunately, the boom on the riverfront is going to hurt Roseland because they are not equipped to keep up with the growth they are experiencing. I can't even imagine what it will be like once Grandview is completed and they are also managing that complex.

I have met so many great people at Riverbend, and a lot of them are moving out also and that is sad. It was the people and the beauty of the place that made coming home after a long day so worth while, now, that feeling is gone.
