I have lived at Stonybrook for 6 years and it was not too soon for me to leave. It used to be a very nice place and I always felt incredibly safe. Of course there are the issues with inconsiderate neighbors and loudness but it wasn't all that bad. Then the hard ecomomic times hit and the place was practically vacant. They chose to rent to anyone and offer free rent and no security deposits as an incentive. Well needless to say it brought a fresh group of rather undesirable types. My husband's car was robbed and there were two recent police raids with guns drawn. The place quite frankly has turned into a "hood" It is scary walking out an night when residents are sitting outside on the stairs watching people get out of their cars.
Plus they allow HUGE dogs, which I think is cruel because huge dogs need a place where they can run and play and these apartments are small. Some people who own said horse dogs let them run free and don't pick up their poop. I like dogs and all but even I am uncomfortable seeing an unleashed Boxer walking around poohing.
It is a shame it turned out like it did. I had 6 years there and I really only hated the last 2.
