I'm a single guy looking to live near the core of the city. This was the place to be! It has a nice pool, hot tub, and basic workout facility. The people were really nice and were very accomodating to our needs (military). Crime is the #1 problem with Alvarado. In the four months I lived there, my car was broken into once and some of the other residences had thefts as well. The gates don't always close or people put a rock in the way to keep them open. If you are cautious with your possessions and safety conscious, I think you can enjoy the city-center location. Having the fire station next door was also quite reassuring!
