Not worth your time!!!!

My boyfriend and I lived in the Alvarado Apts for two years and just recently moved out. At first these apts were all we ever dreamed of, nice pool, nice hot tub, nice workout room, and best was the short distance to UNM. Although, our apt had ALOT of things wrong with it. The maintance they used to have was awesome and would respond the same day, but the one they have now is worthless!!! It takes forever to get anything done! These apts may look nice on the outside, but really everything inside of them is really old i.e. plumbing, heating, air conditioning, etc. It is not worth your money! The new owners have racked up prices more than needed and hired new management who are very rude, snoddy, and ignorant. There is one lady Randy who was nice and would help us with anything we needed, but the community manager Veronica was the total opposite!
More about the community:
--the pool is only opened June, July, and part of August.
--Crime rate is rather high for a gated community (We got home late one night and saw a man all dressed in black running throughout the property. He stopped to talk to us to tell us he lived there, but when he turned around I saw he had a loaded cocked gun. We have also seen random people kicking the coke machines.)
--the gates don't always work
--you are next to a fire station, therefore you hear sirens all night long
--movies are always being filmed in the area so random roads are closed
--you have to deal with drunks from the bars downtown and all their drama late at night while you are trying to sleep
--seems like alvarado has stopped doing good background checks as we have seen really sketchy people move in within the last 6-7 months
--parking can be hell
--water gets turned off ALOT and while in the shower can turn immediately hot
--no lights in the living area
--windows are old therefore letting the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter
--you can hear everything your neighbor above you and next to you is doing at all times (really annoying)
--not much storage
--mold grows rapidly in the buildings (girls above us had to get their wall torn down after much complaining to get rid of a massive amount of mold that was getting them sick)

I believe that just begins to cover it! I hopes this helps anyone who even considers this place! I wouldn't waste my time there again!!!
