Not worth the money

I was very excited to move into the Aspens. The complex is brand new and nice appliances. It looks pretty, but then it starts falling apart. Our apartment was not finished when we moved in. My bathroom was leaking under the toilet, from under the crown molding, from the ceiling vent, and the shower. I had to keep calling for someone to finally come fix it. After many weeks of using my boyfriends apartment because my bathroom was drenched, a maintenance worker came and told me I should make sure I close my shower curtain all the way when I shower!!! He said if that didn't work to call back and they would look at it. The leaks were everywhere, and I am quite sure I know how to shower properly. Not only was I insulted, I still had an out-of-order bathroom.
All you hear about the noise and the parking is true. Very thin walls. I am on the first floor and constantly hear my upstairs neighbor shower, cook, watch TV, talk, and walk around. The AC is very noisy and turns on whenever it feels like it, despite what you set it to, which is not good for the PNM bill (we pay between $90-100 a month for two people, and we are often traveling... doesn't add up, I 've never paid that much, EVER).
Parking is very limited. If you get home after 6pm, you had better cross your fingers that someone is leaving when you get home.
The managers still list free tanning as an amenity, yet it has been broken since early 2004. My roommate and I used it, so when it broke we frequently called the office to ask when it would be fixed. They said they have been waiting for a part to come in, which never came in. Then about a month ago (its July 2004 now) they sent all the residents a letter saying they will no longer offer tanning because recent research shows that apparently its bad for you! Well no kidding, I could have told them that, but they used that as an excuse so they didn't have to fix it.
Some of the staff are okay, but a couple of the girls are rude and will keep me waiting half an hour just to pick up a package. I was talking to one girl in particular over the phone about my leaky bathroom and she gave me her private line and to call her back to see if they fixed it. When I called her the next day she didn't even say hello, she asked me how I got that number and seemed disturbed that I called.
on first appearance, this complex will fool you... but you can do better!!!
