I am stunned at the behavior of this so-called luxury apartment complex.

We stayed in their corporate apartment for 1 week. During that time we intended to rent a 3 bedroom apartment from them.

Bernadette gave us a tour of a model apartment on a Saturday morning. We told her we couldn't make a downpayment unless we were allowed to see the actual apartment we would rent. She said the actual apartment would be available to see on Monday. We asked what the chances were of it renting before then. She replied "Oh, zero. It's a Saturday. We're only open for a few more hours. We're not open on Sundays. And I'll call you if there was anyone else who was interested."

Monday my wife calls the main office to see our apartment...Bernadette smugly replies "We already rented it. Perhaps you should have made that downpayment after all."

What can you do' We find a nicer apartment in the High Desert near the foothills of the Sandias. If only the story ended there...

...as we move out of the corporate apartment in the Cottonwood Ranch my wife turns in our keys to Bernadette. She asks for the $200.00 deposit to be returned. Bernadette says "Renee is the only person who can do that. She isn't working today. She'll do it first thing Monday morning."

Monday comes and goes. Tuesday we get a bizarre call in which Renee believes we are renting an apartment from their sister property, The Aspens, that has been flooded. I inform her she's wrong, that we're relocating from Seattle. I ask if she's returned our deposit. She hasn't...and on top of that she's forgotten that she's already charged us $1,000 for the week we stayed in the corporate apartment and wants to charge us again! I ask her to speak with my wife...

...she does. And she's so mean, vindictive, rude and insulting my wife calls me in tears. My wife informs me that Bernadette never gave Renee our keys, therefore we won't be getting our deposit back and that Renee will be charging our credit card without authorization because "She knows who she's charged in the past, and she knows she hasn't charged us yet." My wife asked for 24 hours to check with our bank, but Renee refused! When my wife asks for her employer's name she says "Oh, we only have investors here. I'm the boss. There's no one you can talk to but me."

I'm going to war with this company. I am SOOOO glad we rented an apartment elsewhere. Their behavior is criminal.
