More good than bad

The grounds are usually nice, except for trash days when the refuse blows around the apartments near the dumpsters. No one cleans it up until the grounds are done on their regularly scheduled days. The cottonwoods are horrible when they bloom, the fluffs get everywhere, including into the pool so you can't swim in it without getting covered in them. You can hear through the walls and there is no blocking wall between units, so when someone else's apartment smells, you smell it too. I can hear the people above me walk around, loud enough to wake me at night. Usually staff responds with a note to the tenant, but they seem to return to their ways. Parking is at a premium in some areas and the exterior lighting fixtures turn on and off all night. I have had someone set off my vehicle alarm and have heard of someone's truck being stolen from the "secured" side. The staff is usually friendly; they just can't keep an assistant there for very long. I believe we are on the 4th one in 1 year. Usually the manager is nice, I've experienced 3 separate occasions where she was short with me, like she had a bad day. The 60 day moving notice is not very renter friendly either. I have had good results with repair responses and have been given paint to touch up areas myself. Sometimes the repairs aren't done with the best workmanship, but the repairman has been replaced and I have no experience with the new one. Any outside noise can be heard (loud car stereo in adjacent apartment complex, people walking by, etc.) so don't pick an apartment up front or on the outside, except for maybe the south side. Especially the ones near the city bus stop, where the busses wait for their scheduled runs to start. Located close to 2 grocery stores, cinema, a couple banks, and a handful of small shops. Very close to freeway access and the east side of I-40 at the mountains.
