My family and I only lived in La Mirage for seven months and that was too long. We chose La Mirage because of the location, atmosphere, and environment. When we were apartment shopping, we visited the location and the representative stated that La Mirage prided itself on being a great family and safe environment. She had us sold. My husband and I believed that we would get what we paid for. Granted, you could go elsewhere for cheaper; however, when you expect good service, great housing, and a safe environment, one would expect to pay more.

Unfortunately, we were greatly disappointed! The sheetrock in the master bathroom was covered in black mold. When we initially reported the problem, the maintenance only spray painted over the moldy areas. The second time that we reported the mold, maintenance did bleach and paint over the moldy areas.

The walls are extremely thin. You could hear your neighbors as if they were in the room with you. We couldn?t even use the restroom without hearing our neighbors above us doing the same. Plus, our neighbors would play loud music throughout their apartment and it was vividly clear in our apartment. We also have a small child and our neighbors would continuously play an electric guitar right above her room and keep us up all hours of the morning. We reported the problem to management and called the after-hours representative numerous times and it wasn?t until we gave our 30-day notice that much was even done.

To make things even worse, our vehicle was broken into. According to the police officer, the same morning we found the damage done to our vehicle, so did four other of our neighbors. We saw, on several occasions, vehicles that were vandalized and broken into. At night, the grounds were not well lit. At any given time, you can walk the grounds and find several broken lamps and numerous light bulbs that were out. We never saw any security walking the grounds.

Finally, we were also disappointed with the management. The management would say one thing on one day and something different on another day. This was frustrating. We were lucky to have requested information in writing; however, this can pose to be a problem.

In summary, we would not recommend La Mirage to anyone.
