I've been here >6 months; time for a first review.

Don't move here.

First two months I didn't have *cold* water in the kitchen and bath sinks. Both sides ran hot. Garbage disposal was jammed and smelled like mold when I first moved in.

Place is old, inside doors are warped and don't close. Front door sticks - you'll need some muscles to get it open.

Unsupervised children yelling and screaming outside until 1:30 in the morning.

Inebriated adults yelling, screaming and fighting on random nights throughout the week and weekends.

Head of management "doesn't recognize" me when I go to the office - keeps wanting to know which apartment I'm in and what my name is, unless I'm paying rent, but no "thanks" when I do.

I wouldn't say this is ghetto, but there is a lot of "trailer trash" kinds of people living here.

So far I've only seen the police here twice - one night they removed both the man and woman of one apartment and took them away. I didn't see them again for about a month. The man apparently doesn't live there anymore now, but the woman is always outside screaming at other peoples' kids. Screaming at kids. Other peoples' kids. But she's not screaming at them when they're screaming.

There's people screaming at each other right now as I type this.

I don't smoke. One of my neighbors smokes cigarettes during the day and the smoke always goes into my apartment - I have to keep the windows/doors closed because of this. Once, after leaving the back door open over night for fresh air, I woke up one morning a and found I had the munchies. I'm glad I didn't have to take a urine test at work that day or I would've definitely lost my job.

Moving along...

Speaking of urine... I don't own pets, but apparently previous residents did - cat urine smell is starting to creep out from somewhere and I've yet to find the source. I'll be searching the carpets with a blacklight soon if I don't figure out where the problem is. It would be nice if I could keep the window/door open to air the apartment out a little, but I don't like filling the apartment with smoke from my neighbor.

July bills for this place look like this:

Rent: $535
Utility: $44.60 (was told this is gas / hot water)
Water: $11.82
Sewer: $3.49
Trash: $6.00
Admin Charge: $3.50 (I don't know what this is)

All these get paid to the apartments. So an advertised $535/month apartment will actually cost you $604.41 or more here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Good points:
Nice well-kept vegetation like trees, bushes, grass. Rock areas are not kicked out all over the place. Loose trash is at a very minimum. Two large outdoor pools, kid's play area, computers/internet available at the office, pool tables, indoor racket ball court.

Movie theater is across the street. Several different places to eat out, most within walking distance. Car wash next door. Albertson's is a couple blocks down. Gas stations, Wallgreens, AutoZone, PepBoys, Napa, "Uncle Cliff's" amusement park just up the street. There's a golfing area nearby, am not sure if it's membership only. Miniature golfing around the corner. I-25 is about 5-10 minutes away.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

These apartments are located in a convenient area for a lot of places and the property always looks real nice, but the majority of odd people living here keeps me from recommending this place to anyone. It's very affordable, but you get what you pay for.

I'll post another review at the end of my lease. I highly doubt I'll be renewing.

Sounds kinda like you got my old apartment there..lol. I think the more nice apartments are located near the office side. I was across from the office by a filthy pond.
