The place has its problem, like any other place, but it is the management you should worry about.

The places may look nice and the people may seem nice, but this will all change when you want to leave. They have many different apartment complexes around ABQ, most of which are near UNM. The most important thing I can tell you if you have already signed a lease would be to get everything in writing, put everything in writing, and make copies. When you fill out the damage report at the begining of your stay make down everything you see, to the color of the walls, and the most minute scratches. Also, be sure that you make a copy of it.
When I first moved into one of there places I thought, this is nice, good price, good amount of space. Then I noticed the mold on the ceiling over the shower, the toilet was always running, and come Spring time no one turned off the gas. WHen I moved in there was a decent amount of the past tenants stuff stull in the cabinets. I wonder waht they do with the deposits they do not return to the tenants, b/c it does not look as though they use them to clean. After all, I noticed that, whie cleaning up the place before moving out, they had not put a fresh coat of paint on the walls before I moved in. (This is why I say that everyone should look thorouhly over the place if they already have moved in). Another thing is that I am not expecting to get my deposit back. I have read other reviews talked to other people, and for goodness sakes, they threatened to make me pay for the advertising for the apartment when I told them I wanted to move out (and not into another one of their places).
On top of their abuse of the tenants payements, they will insult you, tell you that you are ungreatful, and acuse you of wanting to sabotage them. They will also try to enter into your house at anytime to show the place, arguing that they have a businees to run and cannot possible accomodate you if they are going to run their business. Please look up you rights as a tenant, it may come in use.
Finally, they will strongly encourage that verbal notification is ok for requests for maintenance and the like as well as promising things to you. But if you every start a complaint or a request with "you told me..." or "you said..." they will tell you that everything is supposed to be in writing. It says so on the lease, so no matter how much they promise you, if it is only verbal they can get away with not coming through for you. They will keep you to your verbal agreements though.
