I've lived at Manzano Ridge for about 2 years now. I originally lived in a 2 bedroom. I moved from the 2 bedroom into a 1 bedroom and as some of the previous reviews said you can definately hear everything your neighbors are doing in the 1 bedrooms. Sneezing, coughing, going to the bathroom even having sex! Yep you can hear it all. But that's apartment living for you. It got to be a little funny after a while. I figure if I can hear them they can hear me. I've never had any problems with the parking or maintenance or even with the safety of the area. My only complaint is when I moved out of my bigger apt the maintenance people did their walk through and checked everything off. I left it clean. We even cleaned the carpets rather than pay the $100 management said we would have to pay if we didn't do it ourselves. We have 2 little dogs who are house broken for the most part. We moved out in July and in December I got a letter with an invoice on my door saying I needed to pay $750.00 asap for carpet replacement in my old apt. To me this was stupid. Why wait so long to give me an invoice. And they taped a ripped old copy to my door. It was infuriating. I called the property owner and told him what happened. The thing was is the checklist they sign and I sign when I moved out was all taken care of. I haven't paid for this carpet. It hasn't been mentioned since last December (2005). I'm sure it will be brought up when we move out. It seems like a scam of some sort to me. Be sure to ask lots of questions about what you will be responsible for when you move out. No where in the lease does it say renter is responsible for replacing carpet. NO WHERE!
