While the area is very nice, and has great access to the hiking trails and views, the apartment complex itself seems to be falling apart.
Any requests we have had to fix things through maintenance have been met within 24 hours, however, the lasts fixes were so poor (one fix actually made the problem worse) that my husband had to redo them himself.
The side to side noise guards are very effective, we hardly hear our neigbors at all, but, the noise from top to bottom is ridiculous. Floors creek, you can hear people talking even in normal tones, and the noise and shaking from the garage doors opening and closing is like nothing I have ever heard before.
's= Patio is a nice size, it's in a good walking area, there have not been any methlab busts or murders in the area, they hire an outside team for grounds maintenance and they do a beautiful job
-'s= Noise from above/below is very loud, several neighbors have spoken of ground floor break in's, the residents drive too fast in the parking areas (there are many school children that live in the complex and the speeding could be dangerous), there is an extrodinarily large amount of dog waste that is just left where it drops even though the city has supplied bags and waste disposal sites all around High Desert, you'll have to do some maintenance yourself as some of the people they have hired just don't seem to be able to do it, the staff is friendly with some people and not to others (they are great if there is a prospective client in the office).
All together, it's an OK place to live, but for the price, you might as well just buy yourself a condo or house.
