Maintenance and Management the worst or just lazy

About four months ago the light bulb on the wall between my apartment and the neighbor's apartment burnt out. Since I am old and on the second floor the light is of value to me in negotiating the stairs. I called the office to have the bulb replaced. I thought this would be a simple request. At the time the office personnel took my name, my apartment number and the exact location of the bulb that needed replacing and wrote a work order since as she explained the light would not be on in the daytime and this information was necessary for the maintenance worker to find the bulb.
I assumed the bulb would be immediately replaced. I waited for about a week but the bulb was not replaced so I called the office again to ask about my work order. She did not have a record of my order so I repeated the request again and had another work order written. I again waited. This time I could see that the maintenance personnel were working on the complex lighting so I waited for about two months to assure that the lighting maintenance was complete before again calling about my bulb. The light was still not working. The office again had no record of my work order and again I had to repeat the work order information. Since Albuquerque was now having bad weather and I was afraid of falling down the stairs, I waited hoping the bulb would be replaced by the holidays.
After waiting another two weeks for the repair I finally bought a bulb and climbed on a small step stool and replaced the bulb myself. Finally I have a light for my stairs. Nevertheless, I do not think a woman at my age should have to fix exterior lighting. Since this bulb was outside my apartment it should be handled by maintenance and my rent.
The management had always been very insulting to me and lazy. I cannot believe that they are even too lazy to write a work order. The maintenance people do poor work. The building I lived in needed paint and I was ashamed of my building when my friends picked me up.
After my son found out about his mother having to replace the bulb he had enough and I moved to another apartment complex. My new management already knows my name and even offered to call me or check on me each day for free. After I told them my light bulb story they say they would even replace the ones in my apartment for me.
