Be wary of management part 2

Yes, get everything in writing. We had to unfortunately resign with them. We gave them notice of when our new move out day would be, and they said it was fine. A couple of days later when we went to go sign the lease, they had retracted what they said and there was no way we could move out the month they quoted us. We fought that and won. But we did have to fight. Also they said it wasn't their policy to give out the property management name. That was our next step.
When moving out, be wary also of the water company they deal with. We moved out in April and were still being billed for water in July!
Also make sure that if you do move in, that they have new carpet installed. We lived there for over a year and a half, and know for a fact they did not change the carpet or flooring. It wasn't changed when we moved in, either. They wound up charging us for cleaning the carpet in 2 of the rooms. Which was a first for us. I feel especially sorry for the new tenants. Also it was a very drafty apartment. Which was rough in the winter time. We paid for electric and gas, and it became quite costly. The apartment itself wasn't that big. But there wasn't any insulation around the windows. It was not worth the $1200.00 per month. Esp. in Albuquerque.
