Atrocity!

I moved in at the beginning of July 2009. That's right... just over a month ago. I am now thinking about buying a house just to break my lease. Where to begin...

The neighbours: I have had a problem with them since I moved in. They are noisy and waking me up at 2-3am at least twice a week. I have called the "courtesy patrol" who don't get me wrong, they're nice people and they always come out when I call... however they come out hours after anyone can be heard. Also... after the 5th call to them, I knocked on my neighbours (with a camcorder in hand)and asked them to be quiet. Upon answering the door, one of the partygoers said "that better not be b****-a** security" Which tells me they clearly don't take them seriously. But after seeing the camcorder they were compliant.... for 30 minutes bringing the time to 4AM. I called the non-emergency police number next. The police know this address (more specifically, the apartment complex name which they provided to me when I gave them the address) by heart. It's scary.

After the 7th time I gave up and decided knocking on the door got more results than waiting for anyone else to come and shut them up for me.

Moving on, the maintenance. When I moved in there was a disgusting list of problems to be fixed that management was adamant we wrote on the move-in agreement in 72 hours. I still have items on that list that haven't been fixed. Every time I asked about how long it would take to get... the toilet fixed ( I could care less about the three drawers that were falling apart, it's something that isn't vital) they said "we're short-staffed" which they have been since I moved in. So hire some more people... how hard can that be. Anyways... on the contrary, the maintenance IS very pleasant. They know me and my dog by name... that's how often they've been here.

Someone before me stated that the water was icy and the air conditioning or lack thereof sucked. True on both accounts. I survive by fans and a gift from a relative that keeps things cool. That's the only way not to die from heat exhaustion just living here.

The grounds... on the day we toured this place, the model apartment we were shown is different from ANY floor plan they have. It is, you can come look for yourself, there is a long hallway with a separate bath and pretty bright lights. It exists only in that show room. The lobby is about the only thing that is kept up. It's nice to see it in use.. but its usually overrun by rude neighbours so it's not fantastic. The ponds (again previously stated) are a mess. But the day we viewed was the day BEFORE the water stopped working. I can't even begin to tell you how many dead fish we found because it wasn't fixed for about 5 days after the water stopped working. There is a "dog station" which would be a good idea but very few tenants pick up after their pets.

The laundry facility is a joke. It's expensive and the machines are constantly breaking. "It's not management's job to fix it, call the 1-800 number".

Onto management... don't get me wrong, they put on their smiles and will do anything for you to apply and move in.... but afterwards, there is nothing they will do for you. They are constantly out of the office. More than 3 times I've gone to talk to them at 10:30 AM and they have been closed (they are supposed to be open from 9-6 everyday but Sunday, which is 9-5, but don't bother with that either). I pay for my parking space which others often use for themselves for free, and unless they've been there for more than 24hrs, there "is nothing they can do". The laundry card system might be a good idea, but its located in the office which is again, constantly closed. It's a fight to do your laundry.

Safety: What safety' The gates are always propped open by rocks or anything else because some tenants are too lazy to bring their keys with them when they take out the trash. I, personally, am justified in my fear of being abducted or raped by the obscene and disgraceful tact of my direct neighbours and their friends. There are ALWAYS bums outside with their shopping carts full of stenchy trash. I've seen people's cars get broken into (near my vehicle no less).

What more can I say' After all of this... I just want to remind you that I've lived here for less than 6 weeks. Please don't live here. You'll thank me for it.

I totally agree with this writer. The place is a dump--stay away!!! The office staff is dishonest--they extorted money out of my when I moved claiming I did not leave the place clean enough for them! Bad place--went down to do my laundry and found homeless people sleeping in the laundry room. I have heard gunshots at times! Definitely agree with this write!!!

not to mention the idiot staff. They keep charging us for rent that has already been paid! When my husband keeps cooming in and telling Mike or the lady in the back they dont tell the other staff and they keep sending us letters. This is the 5th!!! time we are having to go to them because they say we havent paid 40 dollars! We dont even know where that balance came from?!
