I have lived at Sun village apartments since the summer of 2006. When I moved in I was dazzled by the proximity to the University and the price of rent. But to my surprise it turned out to be a ghetto in a so called "gated" communities clothing. I have often found myself not wanting to allow guests to leave their cars in the parking lot for fear of it either being broken into or stolen, as my cars have had both happen. Within the last month I have had my car stolen from the parking lot in broad daylight, to having my newest car being broken into at 5 in the morning right before work. While waiting to fill out my police report for the second time I was joined by 4 other residents who had their car broken into the same night that security was supposed to be doing their job. This so called "gated"community doesn't even live up to half it's name as the gate does not function 11 months out of the year. The only time that security is active is when a murder takes place (summer of 07) and they decide they better beef up security so as to not lose any business. This gated community claims that the theft of it's residents vehicles are the fault of the resident for parking their cars in the parking and not watching it throughout the night!! I have never felt so disrespected in a business situation and would never recommend a place where I feel like I could be robbed at any moment wheather it be my apartment or my car. If you are considering this apartment look at the other reviews and realize there is a reason people leave the second their contract runs up and the dazzle wears off.
