Nice surroundings but very expensive rent for what you get

The beach, no doubt is surrounded by gorgeous surroundings. However, after living here for four years i can tell you that the only reason i'm here still is because its dog friendly and i'm saving up for a house.
the Rent is way too much for what you get. The apartments are small and the kitchen extremely small. There is no cabinet or storage space in the whole apartment and most appliances are extremely old and delapidated.
the outside lighting is horrible. At night, one can be walking up stairs or near doors and you feel scared for your life.
The noise you hear outside can get pretty bad at times. The worse noise is hearing your neighbors go to the bathroom early morning and evening.
The complex doesn't offer much as far as a real progressive apartment. Unfortunately, neighborhood meetings, workshops, self defense, exercise classes, or even a fitness area, a computer fax room is not provided to you like most apartments these days.
If the apartments were more affordable i say it would be worth what you get, but it's not worth what you pay which is way above for Albuquerque.
