Not an apartment farm!

I HATE the huge apartment complexes that stretch for blocks and in which no one seems to care about each other. This is a smaller complex without many of the amenities that larger complexes offer, but there is enough culturally diverse entertainment in the area that fitness centers and complex parties would feel out of place here.

Physical Complex - Wonderful southwest styling by Antone Predock. This complex has won awards and is studied by architecture students. The stairs are considered "heart friendly" as there are 16 steps to each flight. There are 4 buildings and approximately 80 apartments, which reflect the southwestern step style architecture of the Southwest. At night the neon zig-zags highlight the step architecture and add some of the Route 66 kitsch without being obnoxious.

Atmosphere and Neighborhood - The neighborhood is ethnically diverse, culturally entertaining, and there is always something to do.

The Tingley Beach area has been renewed and rejuvenated in the last two years. Tingley Beach now has walking/bike trails, a dog park is within a mile, wonderful family fishing ponds and a train to the zoo and Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens and Aquarium are just across Central Ave (Route 66). Old Town Albuquerque is about 4 blocks away.

The complex backs to the Albuquerque Country Club and Golf Course. There are many huge cottonwood trees that create shade and add a lovely green-ness to the complex.

Neighbors - What a wonderful, diverse bunch of people! All income levels and most career levels seem to be represented in such a small community.

Security - I have always felt safe in the complex, even walking near the river at night. I have had no evidence of property damange in the four years I've lived here.

Management - The manager has been managing this complex for a number of years and now she lives on-site. During a recent really heavy thunderstorm, the manager and maintenance staff were out at midnight talking to residents and checking and repairing damage that required immediate attention.

Maintenance - Maintenance requests receive response within 24 hours during the week and immediately if necessary.

I have, and will continue to, recommend this complex to anyone who is interested in a smaller compl
