I've been at Villa de San Felipe for three years. There was one instance of breakins (3 apartments next to each other hit all at once) near my apartment on the third floor and within a couple of days the mgt changed our door jams and put a lock on the entrance gates. Still not impossible for someone to pull off a burglary, but at least mgt reacted. Haven't heard of anything like that since then. That was over a year ago.
Parking can suck depending on which building you live in. For awhile they were charging for all gated parking, now they've gone back to just charging for covered parking, which gives you a shot at getting a spot close to your door (which is nice when you have alot of groceries). It can still be a pain sometimes though, but whatever.
I haven't had trouble with maintenance so far (they keep grounds clean) and I prefer the new office crew to the bimbo-ish chicks who were running things before (they were nice, but when I had a neighbor blasting $3000 club-style stereo speakers, they told me they couldn't do anything about him. I would have moved out but he up and died). The new mgt does leave lots of notes but then, there are always idiot tenants who don't follow rules, and that's when we get the notes.
Noise isn't too bad. I sleep with earplugs but mostly because of city noise. One tip on noise - don't get a ground level apartment by the hot tub. People like to go in there after hours in the summer and they never realise how loud they are.
