Community is great, Management is not

I have been here for about a year now and I have never received such poor cooperation from an apartment staff in my life. I love where I live, we have close proximity to shopping, schools and my job. As far as the management here they have no idea how to run a productive customer service related business, nor how to run a constant maintanence staff. We have had issues dating as far back to last summer when it rained for two weeks straight. The lower apts flooded so heavily due to the lack of a proper drainage system that my car and about 6 others had water in them. Along with the snow, I did not see a grounds keeper for a full 2 weeks while people were falling and hurting themselves because the sidewalks were not shoveled. I received a notice on my door about a rug I had hung on my patio, the rug was hanging there because it had gotten wet and I tried to hang it on the shower curtain rod and the thing fell straight to the floor (noting the rug was small and the shower curtain rod was provided for us by the apts) I bought a new rod and I'm going to leave theirs in the tub when I move out. I've also had problems with broken cupboard doors, where the pins come out of the hinges, the security bar on my patio door is loose, the door to the linen closet in the hallway completely fell off the connection to the floor and has now found a home leaning on a wall. I could go on for a little while about the physical problems with the apt but I also want to specifically address the issues I have with the staff.
When I first moved here I was moving from across the country and I had faxed all of my information here. When I first talked with one woman and she stated that rent would be $510 per mth, $30 application fee and $150 security deposit. I said fine and that I would call back in a few hrs after they received the fax. Called back and talked with someone else because the 1st woman was no longer there, asked about my fax and the 2nd woman told me that they had not received it. I said fine I would fax it again, and she told me that the security deposit was going to be $450 because I did not have a lot of credit. I said fine and faxed it in again. I waited 2 days and called back, and I then talked with a 3rd woman who said that they had received it and that I was set to sign paperwork when I got here. It was hard dealing with 3 different people when I just wanted to talk with someone who new what was going on. The manager Lindsay is never there and if she is she is always rude. When I was coming to renew my lease this past mth I spoke with them beforehand to see what all would be going into it. The woman that I spoke with said that rent would be $10 more (so it is now up to $520 per mth) but that as a bonus I would be getting $200 off my first mths rent because I was renewing. I said thats awesome and planned to come in the next week to sign my paperwork. Went in to sign my lease and I spoke with another lady who brought it out, and then told me that I would not be getting a $200 bonus. I asked her why and she said (and I qoute) "We only do that some of the time and we are not doing it this mth" I asked her why the other lady had told me something different and she said that I was just given wrong information. So now I am stuck here for another 9 mths because I was given wrong information and didnt plan on another place because this one was going to give me the renewal bonus. I have also complained on many occasions about how disgusting they leave the grounds here. I have a severe issue with maintanance. They never pick up trash, cigarette butts, bottles, glass and whatever else you would expect. Nothing is ever dealt with until something is mentioned to the management. There is very little assigned parking unless it is covered and even then it is still minimal. The laundry facilities here are always in disrepair. The washers always steal your money and do not work, the dryers never dry anything and the lower dryers end up with water in them so they are useless anyways. Management here does not allow any type of grill on personal patios. So during the summer when you finally find a grill that they provide (there are approx. 8 grills scattered around the complex) the sprinklers turn on almost every hour so its impossible to keep anything dry. The last issue that I need to tackle is the safe factor here. The "security" gates are always broken, I also know of several occasions where vehicles have been broken into, and a few home burglaries as well. If you actually get the gate to open you might have problems keeping it open, there was an instance where it closed on someone else's car. We also had a hostage situation where the SWAT team and most of Albuquerque police were here and they wouldnt even allow us to go to our homes.
Just to sum everything up, you do not want to live here. The staff is filled with careless people and the horrible state of the place is undeniable. Make the decision for yourself, but most of the reviews here seem to agree.
Thank You
