I lived in Tuscany Villa for 6 months and it was really great. I only left because I had to move out of town. The place is very safe, the gates are always shut by 7 PM, and I never saw any suspicious activity. The interior was very nice, only had one maintenance problem the whole time, which was immediately fixed by the friendly staff. I didn't notice any party animals, it's mostly families and older people there. There were only a couple of drawbacks. First being that most of the community gas grills didn't work. Second was that parking could be tough at night, but it only meant parking a little further away from my apartment, no big deal. There are plenty of spaces in the complex, some are just further away. One good surprise was that I wasn't cheated out of any deposit money...I left the place in great condition and the only money held back from my deposit was the reasonable carpet cleaning fee that they fully explained would have to be taken out when I signed my lease. I would recommend Tuscany Villa to absolutely anybody, as long as you can afford it, it is one of the priciest places in Las Cruces. You even get the bonus of seeing a lot of wild rabbits and roadrunners, while they do a good job of keeping out the bugs...didn't see any cockroaches in my apartment and pretty much the only bugs were a few house centipedes. Trust me that is terrific for a place bordering the desert.
