It is doubtful that our manager "L" has an ethical bone in her body.
Bogus late charges you will see. Especially if rent is due on a weekend, when they are not in the office. You have no choice but to put rent in the box for them to get on Monday. So, even though you attempt to pay rent on time, they GET YOU with a late charge.
I waited over 2 months for my swamp cooler to get serviced.
I am waiting over 3 months for carpet service.
I am waiting over 4-5 months for inside electrical work to be done.
I am waiting for repairs over 3 months from water damage.
Report it once, okay. You will get ignored.
Report twice, they start getting upset, and you WILL get ignored.
Report a third time, and they take vengeance on you. And you will get ignored.
Ask to see the very dark laundry room and sauna. It wreaks of urine. There are no doors to the bathrooms, nor are there lights. And there are no lights (One 25 watt bulb in the whole room). The sauna is filled with dirt, and I have heard prospective tenants promised a suana "Within a few weeks", over the months.
The gym is torn apart. Some things work okay, but it is disgusting.
The contracted groundskeepers do a good job.

I agree with you about having to ask more than once. I too waited two months for a working swamp cooler (I just love sitting around burning up when I'm paying premium rent). I was given the excuse the second time I asked that they were going to wait until the morning when it cooled off. Not like I need to sleep or anything!!!

Thanks! These aren't exactly slums, but they are headed in that direction. Back when we had good management, they would at least offer a small concession, SOMETHING to make it right. Not anymore, our apt mgr (ryhmes with "Pleesa") could care less about you, or me, or anyone else. I totally screwed up when I signed a 12 month lease. They just keep jacking up the rent, with nothing in return. Previous mgmt gave us $250 for signing a new lease, now "Pleesa" gives $80 and pockets the rest.
