The bad and good
From: blah37Date posted: 7/21/2006
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
Negative comments:
-Various gates in random states of dis-repair
-Beautiful looking, non-desert flowers put in every few weeks that rot and die within a few days. Why do we need flowers' It's the desert, not the tropics. Management needs to put in more hardy plants that require less water thus saving money on new flowers and water.
-Multiple plants throughout the complex knocked over, dead, and never picked up.
-Don't step on the grass. Most residents use it as a spot for their dogs to do their business.
-I've had my apartment sprayed for bugs, but it doesn't matter. We get cockroaches, spiders, and crickets all the time through the AC vents, underneath the sink, and through other holes into the apartment.
-$15 for an extra gate clicker and $40 for them to run your credit. These prices are excessive. I could go to Home Depot and get cheaper clickers and get a free credit report from one of the 3 credit agencies for them too.
-Trash collectors come early in the mornings and make a lot of noise. Don't plan on sleeping in on trash days.
-Numerous residents are lazy. They drop garbage all over the complex and don't pick it up.
-A monthly community newsletter is given out to all residents. It doesn't have a lot of information pertinent to residents and should be stopped as a cost saving device.
-Crime:
--Someone broke into the mail slot a while back.
--Some fender benders occur every now and then.
--Some residents park their cars too close to you. I've ended up with a few paint scratches on the side of my car because of this.
--Complex got busted by the Health Dept. last summer for putting too much chlorine in the pools.
Positive comments:
-I'm on my 3rd year of living here and while they jack the rent up on my every time I re-sign, they keep it below the current price they would charge for a new resident (hope this lasts or they decide to not jack up the price again).
-No fees for trash, water, or sewer.
-No deposit if your credit is good (at least when I first rented).
-Most maintenance problems are fixed quickly and they tell us if it'll take longer to fix.
-One covered parking spot per apartment, but plenty of other spots if you have 2 cars.
-Most residents are pretty respectful in terms of noise, parking in appropriate spots, and privacy.
