I think it's a vicious cycle with the office staff. They are jerks because people treat them bad. People treat them bad, because they are jerks. Round and round it goes. I lived in these apartments for about two years. There was a major bug problem in my apartment that thier pest control could never get rid of, so I bought some stuff myself and it worked much better than what their pest control was using. Maintenance was very nice and tried but, they don't know what they're doing. I had a problem with the hot water the whole time I was there. I never had any. It was either luke warm or cold. They tried to fix it many times, but apparently couldn't. Also, my A/C had a leak that they never could find so, my electric bills were awful in the summer. I'm not saying that these problems can't be found at other apartments, but somehow they managed to never fix any of these major problems no matter how many times they came out to try. I have worked in property management before and I will give you guys some advice, not only for here but any apartments you live at. Be nice. Always talk as if they are doing you a favor. I know they're not, but it will work. Even if it rubs you the wrong way, do it. I do. And trust me, I hate sucking up. But it will get your stuff fixed faster, they are more likely to waive fees or work with you if payday just didn't fall right and you won't be able to pay on time. It will help keep you from getting evicted. It could help you not get a rent increase and it could help you get your deposit back. Think about it, you would hate to screw someone who is always so nice to you, especially if the other residents aren't. And trust me, most of the residents here aren't because the staff is difficult. I am not a fan of the staff of Horizon Ridge Villas or the company that owns them (and don't bother to complain to corporate because it wont help. They get so many complaints from these residents that they just ignore them) I would recommend you move elsewhere. The rude behavior of the staff is just not worth the hassle. Try renting from one of the larger companies in town.
