I moved here late August. I ignored the reviews and believed that I would have a different experience. The office staff mentioned that they had undergone new management.
The first bad experience is when they broke their promised. At first, they stated that I would move in with $0 deposit. A few weeks later, I was told that I would need a $400 deposit. I was told by the manager that the woman who ran my application made a mistake. It was to late to find another apartment, so I had no choice to move.
I was excited to move in my new apartment, but I was not excited about the smell. I was told by the office staff that my apartment would smell "Musty" for about a day and to just let it air at. They said this is normal because the apartments were closed up for some times. When I opened my door, I was HORRIFIED , the placed smelled horrible. I listend to the womans advice, and waited a few days. After a few days, the smell had not gone away. In fact, I realized that the smell was dog urine. I was told by my neighbor that the previous resident had a dog. I told the apartment complex and they immediately brought someone to shampoo the carpets. The next day, I the smell had came back. I told the manager and they immediately made an appointment for me to get new carpet. The carpet is now replaced. Although , I should have had new carpet when I moved in , I was very impressed by how fast the matter was taken care of.
I think the problem is that the maintenance does a quick turn around for the apartments. There were still nails in the wall, the tub was somewhat dirty, my air thermostat is broken, and one of the burners on my stove does not work.
Overall, the physical appearance of the apartment is decent. The apartment is very spacious. But, the appliances are a bit old. Ok, they are VERY old.
I recently asked for a copy of my lease. I was told that my file was being audited. A few days later I received a call from the manager. She stated that she had lost my lease. She was very apologetic, and I agreeded to come in and sign a new lease.
There are MANY MANY kids in the apartment complex. They are EVERYWHERE. But, they have never given me any problems. They are polite.
I think the problem is that there are too many people in the office that do not communicate. Although everyone is very nice, they don't all seem to know what is going on.
Do I Regret moving here' Somewhat. Will I renew my lease(If they dont lose the new copy) ' Probably not.
