The managers are crazy.

I moved in to the apartment 7 months ago.
The space is a good deal for the rental price.
The managers are overzealous and make up rules that you must follow or you get a lot of letters, fees, and big warning stickers on your car.
There is plenty of parking, but I couldn't take advantage of it because they won't allow people with out of state license plates to park in the spaces, so I had to park on the street.
Wouldn't you know it, my car got hit by a drunk driver because it was parked on the street! Another rule is that you can't park backwards in your stall.
They are very knit-picky.
On a positive note, the grounds are clean, the apartment is very quiet(mostly because I think they try to kick out people with kids), and close to a walkway on the wash.
I don't know if I would live here again, but it's all we could afford.

I'm a reisdent of The Pines, and I am appalled by your comment. The Pines is a wonderful, quiet, clean, and safe community to live in. Management is the reason why it is the way it is, because they care enough to enforce the terms of the lease that all of us sign, and agree to abide by before we move in. I have personally lived in a complex where the rules were not enforced, and the place frankly speaking turned into a slum within a matter of months. If I have to follow a few simple rules, and register my car within the state I LIVE IN as an honest person would do to live in such a beautiful, safe environment, then wow that sure speaks volumes about your charactoer, doesn't it.

The managers are pretty knit picky. And I also believe they don't want children living here. But overall it's a nice quiet place to live. Maintenance issues are taken care of in a timely manner. It could be a lot nicer if they took it up a notch. Is a ceiling fan in the masterbedroom to much to ask for? Or a gym that isn't crammed with play huts.

I agree that some of the rules don't actually make any sense and in some cases aren't really enforced in a fair or logical manner. One being that you cannot put things on your balcony/gated area. You payed for that space, so you should be able to put things YOU own in the space you are paying for, shouldn't you?!
And as a response to the poster of 09/29/08,
Clean? I wouldn't go as far as saying they are dirty but it could be kept in a better manner, it really could.
Safe? In the last two years there have been more suspicious characters and police through here than I care to count. Not to mention the shady people that were reportedly robbing tenants in the parking lot back in '09.
Quiet? I here jumping, screaming, dogs (owned by residents that supposedly have to follow an agreement of no pets...so much for great management with rules) and all sorts of noise all day!
As far as you stating that you 'lived in a complex where the rules were not enforced', I don't believe you at all, in fact I think you're embellishing your info just to make your point seem clear. You sound like a pompous liar who can't take criticism of where they live because they THEMSELVES decided upon it.
Not registering your car has nothing to do with your character, not does it have anything to do with you being an honest person. If that's your basis of a person's nature, frankly I pity you like no other. Get off your high horse before you get KNOCKED off...

Robbing in the parking lot? That is absolutley not true. Suspicious characters? Police driving through complex? I would think that the Police driving through the complex is due to all of us watching out for suspicious characters, and calling the Police to keep our community safe, and as crime free as it is. Someone who doesn't register their car in the state they live in is dishonest. I think the person who wrote the comment on 2/28/10 is not an honest person, I have lived here a long time, and have never had a problem with management, or with any noise, and as far as a balcony having "Things" on it that don't belong on it, perhaps you should drive through a complex that doesn't care, and see what your opinion would be then, the balconies I've seen here have plants, or patio furniture, they look nice, not cluttered with things that have no place on a patio. Perhaps you should move out, and live somewhere where you would have to worry about your neighbors, or parking lots. Wonder what you would say then. You should try being a more positive, and honest person, you'd be amazed how happy life could be. As far as dogs, I've never seen any living here, and I've lived here 10 years, have you had your medication adjusted lately?
