Safe place for single females From: detroitbaby Date posted: 7/19/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   I have lived here since October '07 and have been pretty pleased so far. I won't say it's perfect, but being a single young female I do feel pretty safe. It's right up against the golf course, the neighbors are quiet and there is access to Pittman wash running path. The gym has two working treadmills, but the rest of the equipment sucks. The pool is nice but they planted too many trees that shed all sorts of crud all around it so there is constantly debris floating around. Maintenance is great. They never take more than a day to fix things. There is also a roach problem. They scurry all over the grounds at night and for a while I would find two or three every morning in my apartment. But They came in and sprayed and I haven't had much of a problem since. I'm not crazy about the bedroom/bathroom set up. If I ever have visitors they have to walk through my bedroom to use the bathroom. Not fun for overnights! The quare footage looks great on paper but there is a lot of wasted space. Definitely the hugest roman tubs I have ever seen, but you can't even use them because the hot water tank is too small to fill it up even a 3rd of the way. They're very hard to clean just because they are so big. Huge living room, tiny little galley-syle kitchen. I would rather have a smaller living room and bathroom and a lot more kitchen space so I can actually cook. One other thing to be careful of are black widows on the back porch. This is to be expected because you are sandwiched between the Pittman wash and the golf course. Just take extra care when opening your outdoor storage closet. I have killed two black widows among other various creatures in there already. Overall though, the staff is great, it's safe and I have enjoyed my time here. Only reason I'm moving is to be closer to friends.
