As a couple (husband in the military) living at Avion Apartments was a great experience especially for newcomers to the city. We fell in love with bothe the mountain view and city view thus being the main reason why we chose to live here from Nov. 2004 to May 2006. The staff in the office are great. It always seemed so quiet. Though there were times we received notices regarding theft/burglary in the area we never saw or experienced it. The only downfall was the pool. During the summer the kids take over the pool and they have no regard over others which meant the only time you could really swim was during the evening hours. Also, management does have the area sprayed for bugs but somehow they all crawled out of there holes at night especially the roaches in the grass and sidewalk!!! We really never knew where they came from nor do we know if the issue still exists. But when we were there for the 18 months we did see them! The neat thing about the apartments is you can paint the walls whatever color and don't have to paint them back nor do you have to cover up the holes you made in the wall! We had moved into an aparment where an extremely heavy smoker once lived and that stench stayed behind. They should have at least cleaned the walls with bleach or something but EVERTYTHING...and we do mean EVERYTHING was YELLOW! It took us a few months of airing out the house including sleeping with the windows open to get that smoke smell out of the house and our clothes.
