If you are antisocial like me, this place is do-able.

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2007
I moved to Vegas fresh out of college with $500 in my pocket and this was the only place I could afford. Vegas is an expensive city to live in, and you will have a very hard time finding a decent place for less that $1000/mo excl. utilities. This is a furnished apartment with utilities included. (Wonderful since the Vegas power companies RETROACTIVELY raise the rates about every 4 months on average--think what your A/C bill could be!) The apartments are also directly across the street from the LV Convention Center--cannot even get a hotel closer! Management is very friendly, and does not try to sneak any of those extra fees past you. Plus, they have the parking lots regularly patrolled for those ghetto cars that would sit there for years otherwise.
With all this being said, this complex is comprable to a bad Motel 6.
The apartments are furnished to the lowest common denominator and are currently using TOO low-cost replacements--A/C, TVs, etc. The cleaning when you move in is deplorable--cat feces by the bed for me. If you plan in living here LT, go to Home Depot and rent a carpet shampoo machine--expect to spend a couple of days doing this b/c you will need to repeat a lot! (I shampooed 11 times! My carpet which I had always thought was dark brown was actually a rust color! I would have done more, but the carpet started to fall apart.) It is very hard to get maintenance to do anything (I've found bribbing the management works) and they mostly do quick patch work; but on the plus side, I've never had a problem with maintenance theft. I've never had a serious infestation problem but the potential is there--DO NOT RENT ON THE FIRST FLOOR! (Early 2006, there was a huge story in the local news regarding this complex's problem with bed bugs--bed bugs should not be visible to the naked eye! They were the size of raisins!)
If you see this apartment complex advertising a fitness room, WRONG! The former weight room has been renovated this past month into a maintenance breakroom, or the like. The pool is decent, but you will quickly learn to hate Marco Polo as there are kids playing in the pool till 9-10 PM. HUGE laundry facility, YEAH!
This is not a good part of town, but crime in the complex has gotten better recently mostly due to LVPD LT neighborhood initiatives of doing several-times-a-night walk/drive throughs (the complex's private security is a joke); however, this is not saying much. There are still: drug busts, murders (I am not exagerating that over the years I've had two different next-door neighbors murdered by their roommates), and A LOT of sexual predator arrests. So comforting that you will see cops here virtually every day at all times of the day/night, but it is very disconcerting to see that yellow police tape on your building.
Here again, if you plan to live here LT, go to Home Depot and invest in a couple of good door and window locks. For the same reason, I would NEVER!!! recommend the 1-bedroom apartments--cheap sliding glass doors that are scarily accessible!
NEVER answer your door!! (If someone did not call me ahead of time, I don't even bother going to the peephole.) Do not go out after dark! You will hear people screaming and glass breaking in the wee hours of the night. You either learn to deal, or you have the cops on auto-redial.
I'm relocating to Dallas for work later this month, and hope I can upgrade apartments down there.
