I wonder if it is still as nice as it was when I moved out...

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004
I lived at Coral Garden apartments on two different occasions. I was in a "junior one bedroom" for over a year about 12 years ago and moved "up" to a two bed/bath for another year. I loved it there.I was there about three years that time. Management was fantastic. I had to move out to live with my recently widowed Mother, but when she decided to move back to Chicago to be with more family in 2003' , the first place I looked at was CG. Management had just been recently replaced with the same, or at least most of the same people, that were there during my original stay. The reps made sure the apartment was what I wanted (there were a few available, but I got exactly what I needed). Their pricing was good, but poorly insulated windows and outer walls caused somewhat higher electric bills. Maintenance was better than in my own homes. I never had to wait more than 24 hours for ANY repairs. Some repairs that I expected to take much longer were done almost immediately and I was never in discomfort. The one time we lost gas for hot water, one or two apartments were set up for bathing, but as they were too busy/crowded I'd either take cold showers or visit very understanding friends. I only lost hot water for a few days, and although it was a little inconvenient it didn't bother me. I also got a credit of a day's rent for every two the gas was out. I never expected that. They HAD a deal that if rent was paid "early" a credit was applied to lease renewals, up to 12 days. I don't know if they still do that. But it was a way they showed a loyalty to their residents, especially those of us that NEVER caused any problems to others. Rent increased minimally each year. My carpet was cleaned every year and on my second lease renewal they replaced my tile in the kitchen and bath. The place was always maintained and the maintenance people very professional. My only complaint was that parents didn't do much to keep their kids under control, but usually wasn't bad enough to cost me to lose any sleep. Management and security did what they could to keep things quiet. Insulated windows might help, though. Management was awesome when I had to shorten my lease due to moving in with my girlfriend/fiance. Many other locations wouldn't have been the least bit flexible. I am single again and when I'm ready to move from my "in-law" apartment, Coral Garden will again be one of the first places I consider. I hope the manager and assistant manager are the same as when I moved out the last time. They were both AWESOME. And OH YEAH...those "pony walls" or railings that separated the livingroom from the kitchen and were a GREAT feature. Not only did they define the living spaces, but they allowed for some creative decorating. I found it unique.
