NO PLACE FOR THE HUMAN RACE

My husband, three children, and I lived at Coral Gardens from 2003-2006. I have got to be honest when I say we were more than happy to have left. During our three years we experienced so much, not to mention the many DRUG DEALS that took place right in the parking lot. SWAT breaking the windows into an apartment, a stabbing, a robbery, many AUTO THEFTS, and plenty of domestics involving what some may consider the foulest neighbors out there, and the cheery on the cake was driving home to the las Vegas CSI team with yellow tape baracading three buildings as they investigated an apartment that was shot up by a man with an AK-47. It was the poorest ran establishment I have seen in my life time. The matienence team was a joke, they had one gentleman Jimmy who was awesome however, when he left the whole crew went down the tubes. It was no place for THE HUMAN RACE!!! The apartments are nothing like the models or what is portrayed on the net. Please DO NOT BEE FOOLED...............this is basically an DAYS INN from the mid seventies!!! They have cat walks on the top floor and the bottom floors were no better. The air conditioners were as old as my gramndmother and as loud as her 1970 Chevy Nova. I would like to give you all a heads up as far as Nevada Power is concerned, in the summer months (june-sept) our bill was nefver less than 250$ and sometimes over 300$. In an nut shell this place called Coral Gardens in beyond livable. You would be better off at Budget Suites up the street. The prices are rediculous, the property is nasty, the laundry facility is a joke (STACKABLE W/D AVAILABLE IN THE UNIT HOWEVER THEY CHARGE YOU FOR THEM), the so called STAFF is hideous, and the neighborhood is foul. This is no place for kids, and the scools are considered AT RISK SCHOOLS. Ya'll can go to the clark county school district and review the accountability reports, they will make ones skin crawl!!!!! wE END THIS REVIEW WITH A FINAL THOUGHT...............IF PRICE IS YOUR REASON FOR CONTEMPLATING MOVING TO CORAL GARDENS .............PLEASE ASK YOURSELF WHAT PRICE IS YOUR LIFE WOTH'

I have to admit that I haven't lived there since early in 05, but unless there has been a major shakeup in management and staff since then, I'd still consider moving back. I always felt it comfortable and safe. EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS STOLEN. Cops told me that could have happened anywhere. Same with gang shoot em ups...and other nuts with guns. HOWEVER, I would never consider living on the "east side" of the complex as it seemed to be a "section 8 slum". I lived alone and my electric bills were rarely over $100 in the summer time...but the places are NOT very well insulated. If your bills were that high, maybe teaching your kids to turn off the lights and raise the a/c temp a few degrees might have helped. In the house I l just left, my wife and I cut our utilities by over a hundred a month just by changing lightbulbs from 60-90 watters down to 40 watt bulbs. and raising the thermostat to 78 and running fans helped too. YES, the air conditioners are old, but THEY WORK FINE. And I wish I had your grandmother's 70 nova! Aa far as the schools...QUIT blaming the school. IF the kids were taught some proper behaviors and the teachers were backed up a little by the parents, kids would again begin to learn. The schools are not AT RISK because of the school OR the teachers...parents ought to take a good look in the mirror. And one final comment. If you are THAT unhappy with them, why did you live there so long? Metro can provide information on neighborhood quality. More problems occur across Harmon, in the HOUSES than happen at CG.

I could not help but laugh in histarics at the denial Mr. Anonymous displayed in his response to, "No Place for the Human Race"! As a mother, wife, and prior tenant of Coral Gardens, I was completely baffled at his lack of KNOWLEDGE, not to mention his obvious ignorance. I am currently 35 years of age and have never lived in an establishment remotely close in comparison to Coral Gardens. I found his car being stolen quite funny! I bet the fine officers that assisted him did tell him it could happen anywhere, is that not typical of most things in life? However, statistics may out weight a STRESSED OUT, TIRED, and Fed up officer who frequents Coral Gardens as part of their daily BEAT. Auto Theft does happen and I am sure could happen anywhere however, its those places such as Coral Gardens where it had become a daily problem, that one might find an issue with. As, I continued reading I almost felt as thought Iwas in a live audience at a taping of Comedy Central, when he mentioned, "Shoot em ups"! This could not be a NORMAL and FUNCTIONING person in society. I have to DISAGREE completely. This is not typical behavior in everyday communities. In the world I live in, I can honestly state I have not come across very many people whom have witnessed "SHOOT EM UPS" unless of course they were on the back lot at Universal Studios enjoying the afternoon matinee of their Western show. "LETS GET REAL", as Dr. Phil would say. Next was his defensive comment in regards to the electric bill, this guy must have fallen and bumped his head somewhere along the way. Clearly the first person was refering to the SWELTERING summer months so many have chosen to battle residing in Nevada. My family of three did not have the luxary of setting a thermostat while leasing a two bedroom dump at CG apartments as their was no CENTRAL AIR and HEATING. Like one mentioned above, the cooling and heating systems were much like one would expect to find at a ROACH MOTEL, so to speak, which leads me to mention the pest problems. The roaches that were part of this establishment might have been worse than anything one has witnessed in a life time. It was impossible to gain an upperhand on this problem, as the entire perimeter was infested with these filthy insects. The staff that lived on grounds could aggree this was a fowl infestation.
Mr. Anonymous, please give your wife as well as yourself KUDOS on helping conserve energy and your households finances by switching lightbulbs. If I may, during which time did the above mention that there energy bill was a result of their children not being taught to turn lights off? Just curious, as I did not find that paragraph.
Before I end my response I am left with one final question....Mr. Anonymous, what gave you the inpression that the Accountability Reports are PATHETIC in this area as a result of behavioral problems and lack of parental backing? I suppose one might then take your response into consideration, as those problems are more typical in areas such as the one that grounds the CG Apartments.
I would like to end this by saying this is a POOR excuse for a complex. It is old; ran down, tattered, and is an utterly disgusting much like the office staff, matn. crew, and Lori the manager at the time. My family, like many had limited options as far as financial status is concerned, so CG seemed like a step up from the PROJECTS. Oddly enough, this area is far from an inner city however, CG was its own inner city. Might I just further educate Mr.Anonymous because clearly he must have had one to many tokes on the pipe or one to many night capers while writting his rebuttle. Section 8 is not defined as being a slum. We have recently RESCUED our family from the hands of HELL by moving out of Nevada. Currently, we are living in a house in a developement that consists of homes ranging from $200,000 to 300,000 and guess what?.....There are many homes that owners are renting out which are SECTION 8 approved. So, before you write something so closed minded such as the above, do your lovely wife and yourself a favor, "GET FREAKING REAL" or lay off the Herb. I can't remember exactly but I believe the last time I laughed so hard was back in my college days after one to many TOKES off the old WATER PIPE myself. I would only recomend the city of Las Vegas doing the residents whom make up the population of CG a favor, DRAIN THIS CESSPOOL, UTILIZE THE REVENUE THAT CASINOS FUNNEL, AND BUILD SOMETHING THAT MOST NEVADANS OR REPEAT TOURISTS WOULD ENJOY!!!
