I've lived here "forever"

Years at this apartment: 1993 - 2006
I moved into my apartment when it was just a few months old. (The prior occupant was a rental agent for the complex.) I don't remember the year but I'm guessing it was about 12-13 years ago.
When I first moved in I absolutely LOVED the place. The landscape, the pools (5), the spas (7)were all very inviting. And, as a Strip dealer, the location was unbeatable. Oh...and the price was right.
As a single person the one feature in my one bedroom apartment that I continue to enjoy is the design of the bedroom/bathroom.
Aside from that feature there isn't much I like about the complex anymore. Every time I sign a new lease they request I fill out a survey. One of the questions on the survey is "why have you chosen to remain at Desert Club'" I always reply "because moving is too much work!"
You can read reviews of this apartment complex on this website - as well as on others. I agree with most all I have read.
The apartment management changes more often than I do my cat litter. Maintenance is, at best, somewhere between bad and fair.
The rental prices are, in my opinion and compared to much newer properties, way out of line.
Given, there are very few (half decent) apartment properties near the Strip. Desert Club is one of them. If, that is IF, location is of primary importance then Desert Club would have to be considered in the top 5 of your options.
Three last comments:
1) My apartment faces north. North of here there used to be a couple of apartment complexes. Steve Wynn bought the properties -- to build an employee parking lot. I cannot tell you how many hundreds of sleepless nights/days I've suffered while the apartments were torn down, foundations smashed, and the rubble loaded into dump trucks. Then came the construction of the parking lot. More noise...the BEEP BEEP BEEP of trucks backing up was incessant. The parking "lot" is complete but now, it seems, they are building a parking "garage." And, don't forget, Harrah's has only BEGUN their master plan for nearby property. Be prepared to deal with a LOT of construction noise for, probably, many years to come.
2) The zip code here is 89109 (soon to change per the post office). For insurance purposes (automobile and renter's) zip 89109 is one of the worst in Las Vegas. And you'll pay for it.
3) Rumor has it Harrah's has recently purchased this property. Harrah's has recently purchased virtually all properties visible from here. It's hard to believe Harrah's wants to get into the apartment management business. So.... Well, you guess what this property might be a year or so down the road.
Hope this review helped.
