Eastgate has pros and cons. Overall it's a decent, but not great place to live. Cons: the area is ghetto. The apt is a couple blocks from Sam's Town and near an RV park. There's quite a few ghetto, trashy, and transient people walking around. And btw, Eastgate is right next to a gambling hall. Sometimes I wake up at night when someone bumps up their car radio real loud. But what can you do' I usually don't go out at night for fear of the surrounding area. The rent is also high. I was talking to a bunch of people and they said that I could've gotten a better apartment at a lower rate. The apartment complex itself is about 10 years old. I had maintenance issues unsurprisingly. I also have ants in the apartment. The area is about 20 mins from the Strip. I haven't had any major problems but I wouldn't have lived here if I knew what I was getting into. Pros: Location is near basic essentials like banks, dmv, target, walmart, and grocery stores. The place is always gated after 5pm. Management is great. They are attentive to your needs and are always willing to help you. The apartment complex is a family community. Lots of different people of different age groups.
