I rented an apartment from Emerald Bay Apartments @ 4701 E Sahara Ave for 1 1/2 years and I want to let everyone know that the new coat of paint they are putting on their buildings is not going to stop them or Preferred Property Management from being crooks! I gave 32 days notice on February 28th, 2007 which was when my lease was up, I didn't break any lease. They claim to have not received it even though I faxed it to the then known management company (which was not Preferred Mgmt) & hand delivered again on March 3rd. Because of in ept staff memebers..as there were 2 in the office when I verified if they had received my notice..and had to come back again to give them a copy..NEITHER OF THEM SAID WE NEED TO SIGN THAT SHOWING YOU GAVE NOTICE when I specifically asked what else do I need to do...They wont give me back $100.00. The deposit was $150.00...I was even letting them keep $50.00 for BS excuses they might have wanted to use. I will be sending this to the better businees bureau and every TV station, radio station & newspaper in Las Vegas! I know $100.00 might seem petty to some people..but I work hard for my money and it is the principle of being taken for your money when they had proper notice! If I would have known they weren't going to give me back my money I wouldn't have spent 2 days wiping down walls, cleaning, and spackling my photo hanging holes! Whats worse is had I known about websites like apartmentratings.com I would have never moved in! There is not anything positive that anyone has written and mine will be next to go up there as well! Sorry to hear about your condition with Emerald Bay. It seems like they have a history of negligence over the years. I'm a current resident here (at EB) and am looking for a good lawyer. Good luck to you on your search~
