My family moved into the Cayman Bay apartments almost one year ago. Thankfully our lease is almost up and we are out of there!!! After moving in we found out that there was a police substation on site. Due to the gangs that inhabit the complex. The grounds are over run with small unattended children, trash bins overflowing constantly, and the parking garages have HUGE holes punched into the all of the walls! I am in no way exagerating! You would do yourself a favor to check this property out, if for no other reason to see how a property should not be run. In the two summers that we have unfortunatly lived here, the pools are shut down by the health department more than they are open. Recently we have new management. They had the new signs up proclaiming the improvements before the week was up. However in that has been the only change. All of the promises of improvement have been only lip service. I am rejoicing at the prospect of moving this month. And can only pass on this warning that you might be spared the year that my family has just been through.

Oh, boy! You echoed my thoughts! My family lived at Cayman Bay from 9/1/01 until 8/12/02. Everything you said is true! I cannot believe what a slum this place turned out to be. I had roomed with friends in the early 90's and back then Cayman Bay was a paradise. One decade later, it was horrible, just as you described. I had my parking spot taken away, to accomodate a new tenant! I worked night shift, getting home at 2:30 am, and as a female, was scared to death running half a block to my apartment door. Wish I would've read this review a few days before signing my lease (you wrote it 5 days before we moved in) !
When we moved (out of state), paid the full months rent, but moved mid month. I notified the office of our leaving, not breaking the lease, and told them that my mother would be turning in the keys on the 31st of August. She was with us in Colorado to help and when she got back to Las Vegas, went to the unit we still had legal tenancy of. The windows were open (ummm, August in Vegas) and the air conditioning running full blast. (we decided to leave the power on till the end of the month) Maintenance had been in there, stolen items left behind for my mother to take to her home, and ran up my electricity bill! When I contacted them, their response was simply, you told us you were leaving on this date. As for the power bill, I had to pay.. they refused any compensation.
gggrrrrr! what a horrible place it was, and appears to still be....
Oh, and I didn't even remember to mention the roaches.

PARADISO MAY BE UNDER A NEW NAME BUT ITS STILL THE SAME SLUM WITH HIGH PRICES. THE DUMPSTERS STILL ARE OVER FULL AND STINK. OUTSIDE SMELLS LIKE SEWER AND TRASH. THE PIGIONS ROOST UP ON THE ROOFS AND THIER DIRTY FEATHER LITTLER MY DOORWAY AND FLOAT INTO THE HOUSE. THERE IS NO GRASS JUST BIG ASS ROCKS THAT KIDS THROW IN THE STRRET, AT THE CARS AND AT EACH OTHER.
A TEENAGER THREW A BIG ROCK INTO A TRUCK WINDSHIELD AND PUT A BIG HOLE IN IT. YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO DO ENGINE REPAIRS, BUT SOMEONE PUT IN A NEW RADIATOR IN THE PARKING LOT AND MADE A BIG MESS, AND MANAGMENT NEVER SAID A THING. THERES NOT ENOUGH PARKING AND WE ARE THE ONLY COMPLEX ON NORTH RAINBOW THAT HAS CARS PARKED ON THE STREET. THE FRONT SECURITY GATE DOSNT WORK ALL THE TIME. AND THERE IS A BAD BAD BED BUG PROBLEM RUNNING THROUGH THIS COMPLEX. I SUGGEST YOU MOVE ELSEWHER. PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND GET A NICER PLACE. IN FOR RENT MAGAZINE, THIS PLACE IS ADVERTIZED AS RESORT STYLE LIVING, I PAY OVER $1000 MONTH, AND I DO NOT FEEL LIKE I LIVE IN A BEUTIFUL PLACE, ITS JUST ANOTHER VEGAS ---- HOLE RIPPING OFF HARD WORKING PEOPLE.
