Evergreen Apartments

EXCELLENT for the price.. BUT.... From: fony Date posted: 5/15/2005 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005 1 response   I have now lived here for about 15 months and will be moving out here at the end of my lease this coming september. There are good points and bad points to renting here just like there are anywhere else. Ill start with the bad points and get them out of the way. Nearby Crime: Besides there being some random gunfire OUTSIDE of the complex, I have also caught wind to alot of theft going on here. A neighbor left his mini-bike chained to a stairwell for 2 hours and it was cut and stolen. MY CAR was broken into and wiped completely clean as well. There is a roaming guard but the guy walks so slow that it would be easy to commit small-medium levels of theft/burglarly while the guard is still wandering on the opposite side of the complex.. oh yeah, lets not forget that he gets off around 3-4am and everyone knows that most crimes are commited between 4-7am right before anyones awake. Running Water: I seem to be the only tenant THAT I KNOW OF that has this problem. Basically, my hot water runs murky.. take 3/4 glass of water and mix it with 1/4 glass of milk and you got my running water. Pretty disgusting. I've brought it up numerous times just to be shrugged off as "wow thats weird, you know these are old buildings, and the piping is old too...etc etc" so does that mean i have to bathe/shave/brush my teeth in disgusting water' Leaks: my apartment leaked once a few months ago when we had some very very very extreme weather here.. they are currently looking into the problems and fixing them as they come along. Electricity: Again, supposedly just an "isolated issue" I replace at least half the light bulbs in the apartment every 2 months. Nothing more needs to be said. Flexing rules: I hung up a few shirts to dry a few months back and got nailed for it the following day.. but for some reason the guy with the pirate flag draped over his balcony opening seems to not be affected. OKAY GOOD POINTS TIME Now that i have all that off my chest, time for the good points. Staff: all the workers and staff are very friendly and always trying to help out. (Except the water issue) BUGS: THERE ARE NONE. Now, i do live on the second floor so that may be a factor but still.. i havent seen a single cockroach/spider/rat/anything in the entire 15 months that i have been here. kudos to them for keeping up on their orkin bill. Space: the living room is big as is the bedroom. With this being my first apartment here on the mainland i didnt know what to expect and after looking around recently at new apartments i have found that i scored pretty big on the extra space. Price: I pay $570 now but it has gone up for any new renters to $650.. still.. its a great price for the space you get. Overall i would recommend it for those that are on a budget but need a bit of room for all of their furniture/studio equipment/whatever but for god sakes DONT leave anything of value in you car or chained to anything outside of your apartment.
