Evergreen Apartments

WORST managed property in Las Vegas!!!!!! AVOID!!!! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/3/2006 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006   I have lived in this complex for about 8 months and I have to tell you that if you have other options, TAKE it!! First off, I chose this complex because it advertised nightly security. Shortly after I moved in, that nightly security DISAPPEARED! The rent didn't go down... Apartments get broken into...nothing gets done. On several occasions, mailboxes, including mine, were broken into and all the management did was send out a poorly-worded letter telling us that it was a felony to break into mailboxes. No Kidding! I'm sure the person that broke in doesn't care that it's a felony! Now, the room that the mailboxes are in, requires a key. However, it is the same key that opens the laundry room. I asked them to change the lock after my box was broken into and they wouldn't. I asked them when the last time was that they changed it and they said "it's been a long time" I'm sure a ton of people have moved out since they last changed the lock and they probably still have the key! They said it would be an inconvenience for people to not be able to get into the laudry room and the mail room if they changed the lock and the resident didn't get a replacement key right away. Well, let me ask you this...would you rather be inconvenienced by not being able to do your laundry for a day, or having to deal with identity theft from your mail being broken into'' To say the least, safety it not a top priority in this complex!! I don't feel safe at ALL! They can't even guarantee the safety of our mail, let alone the residents!! When I told them my mailbox was broken into, all they said was "you better call the post office" and "it happens here all the time." They were so cavalier about it, it was shocking!! I went out and got a P.O. Box so I can guarantee I receive my mail. On numerous occasions, we had no hot water. On others, we had no water AT ALL! Pipes would break and it would take DAYS for them to be repaired. The people in the office just say "I live here too, I didn't have water either." SO'' What does that do for me'' Five days over the last 2 months, we had no water AT ALL. I can tell you this, you can only wash your hair in the sink so many times, before you get frustrated! ;) By the way, the complex is very close to the North Las Vegas Airport...you will hear planes flying overhead(very low) at all hours of the night...hope you are a sound sleeper!! Take comfort in this...even after all I've described, they still will have no problem cashing your rent check every month!! As a wiseman once said "BUYER BEWARE"!!!
