I will make this as short as possible. I have lived at the Evergreen for a year and been annoyed many times at the lack of maintenance and disregard I was given by some of the staff. However the water issue is my biggest problem. The day before Thanksgiving we were without hot water. We STILL have not gotten hot water back. Me and the other residents are constantly complaining. However, the management seems unconcerned. They claim to be fixing the issue but after three weeks, this is absurd. We have called code enforcement, the health department but they all say that since the Evergreen is trying to fix it, there is nothing they can do except check that they are in the process of fixing it. We are also being told that we will get compensation. I have called the corporate office and was told that I would recieve NOTHING for compensation. However, the manager said that in January SOME residents would recieve compensation but not to expect much and nothing would be free. Other issues I have had include: water being turned completely off without notice, laundry rooms out of service and when they are in service some machines take your money or do not work properly, extremely long waits or no response for maintenance requests, a door lock that broke was treated as unimportant and would be fixed when other things were done (leaving my apartment unlocked and unmanned while I was a t work, poor functioning appliances and a very strong odor from the sink that has been ignored. The hot water issue is definetly the final straw. I can only inform others so that they do not make the mistake of coming here. It isn't worth the trouble and to be without hot water is a CRIME!!!! However, you will only be able to recoup your money if you have the money, time and are willing to sue. One more note is that this apartment complex has had numerous trouble with the health department for hot water issues throughout the years. It is one of only a very few complezes that has a boiler to supply hot water throughout the complex. There are no hot water heaters in each apartment. According to the health department, this system is very outdated and old and has many problems. The new manager seems nice enough though I do not like being blown off even if she blames the owner and corporate office(who in return send you back to her. I must also mention that when we moved in, they lied to us abotu the move in special and tried to cheat us out of the money. The old manager as very deceptive and lied. For 3 months we recieved late fees and notices that we paid less rent than we should have only to find out they were errors each month. Please, i you do rent here, keep all reciepts of the rent you pay. And please only move here if you are ok showering with cold water!

It is a crime to not have water! The maintenance guy...his name is Eli i believe does not know a thing or two about maintenance! These apartments are a CRAP HOLE!

They knew from the beginning that it would take over a month to fix the hot water. They blew all the residents off and didn't care about us. They lied and took our money and acted like we were wrong for being upset! Living without hot water in the cold temperatures outside and no compensation is absurd! The manager was rude and obnoxious abotu the whole issues along with the immature and ridiculous Liz Richie from the corporate office. I cannot believe that anyone would operate with such disregard for their residents. This place is a slum.
