This place sucks!

I moved in to King's Crossings because I have a large dog, and I was desperate to find an affordable place to move in with him. This is by far the worst place I ever lived! From the day I moved in, my screen door on the slider was completely off the track, and it took me four months of telephone calls to get someone to fix it.
They advertise themselves as "Pet-friendly", which is a joke, because if you have a dog, you will NEVER EVER see a maintenance person in your apartment. Since we've been here, we have tried repeatedly to get some maintance issues corrected (leaky/non-working dishwasher, leaky sinks, etc). BUT because I have a dog, I cannot get anyone to come out. The office staff refuses to set an appt or even give you a specific day that maintenance can be there. And Maintenance won't go in if there is an uncontrolled dog in the apartment. How convenient for them! So, if you work, and don't want to leave your dog locked in your bathroom/bedroom for days/weeks until maintanence finally decides to show up, you are SCREWED! I had several neighbors with the same problem. I also believe my building must be built on an ant colony, becuase even though we are clean people, ants will swarm up through the bathtub, sinks, or through the cracks in the walls. This happens about every two months until we find the hole or crack they are coming through and caulk it. Very disturbing!
At least I am lucky enough to live in a building that is right in front, so is relatively safe. i understand that in the back appartments there are shootings, home invasions, break-ins, assaults, etc, daily. The police are always in here. The pools have been shut down countless times by the health department.
We have been through at least three management companies, and each one is worse than the one before. The current one is by far the worst in terms of communication with tenants. When this one took over, they didn't notify the tenants for two months, even though there were changes, such as the fact that they changed the way they bill us for trash and sewer, and they stopped sending rent bills. Today, they decided to paint the buildings, again, with no notice to the tenants. I came home today to find the items I had on my patio spread out on the front yard becuase the painters had decided to move it all, and of course they didn't put it back. Had I been notified, I would have been able to bring my things inside. In part, it is these lacks of simple courtesy that are causing my family and I to break our lease at considerable out of pocket expense (good luck collecting it from me!) to get out of this crappy complex. If you are looking for a real place to live, don't even consider King's Crossing!
