I am an owner and have lived in the complex for a couple of years. I have been issued warnings and fined in regards to my pet. I didn't know the rule prior to purchasing. I feel that previous residents, regardless of owner or renter, may have somewhat taken advantage or abused the complex thus provoking all of these rules. I still see the feces left behind by animal owners, I have neighbors who still speed through the complex making it unsafe for everyone, and others who don't respect the early risers who work. If those people would exhibit some common sense, resepect and courtesy, we may all be able to live contently here on a daily basis. As an owner, I want to be proud of where I live. Some of the renters/neighbors I have spoken with care and some just don't.

The HOA sucks and is unfair in Laguna Palms. Get used to it as if you are NOT in their click you suck (yes, even as an owner) there are two sets of rules though. One for owners and one for tenants however if the HOA does not like you they do not care if you are an owner or renter. You are marked! Just ask Jim!

Absolutely, the HOA is obtuse about the inconsistency they show as well. During a meeting we had with them to request a fine forgiveness or reduction, one gentleman actually stated that they made the no-alcohol by the pool (LOL in Las Vegas...and <2 mi from the strip no less)...to prevent "glass" by the pool. However, the HOA made it strict (i.e. "no" alcohol) because they didn't like to see alcohol 'labels,' and also that, then, they could arbitrarily decide "on the spot" when someone drinking alcohol (in an unmarked container) there would be warned and/or cited (based on behavior). Yes...I'm saying he 'directly stated' that they would allow drinking in "unmarked" containers, and cite based on behavior. Pish! By what standard is one to be judged? And from what we've seen there; by whose mood, and at what time are we to be set against any particular standard at all? Not even they can tell you. But, if you ask, they'll reassure you that they're being as fair as possible; but that every situation is different. Pish, I say Pish! This is the very essence of unfairness. LOL Think long and hard about the booming LV housing market before you invest $200-300K on property in this complex if you in any way wish to retain your own freedom of...geez...behavior. :) I admit that the area is very attractive, and agree that some people at Laguna Palms "just don't care" about the place. But the Napoleonic style of HOA managment "cliquing" is on the border of disgracefully unfair. And believe me, they'll defend their sanctimony until the end. I say it again...Obtuse. But it's a California company...so what the heck do you expect but (what, for anyone else, ought to be) embarrassingly one-sided thinking? **sigh**

I am so glad I don't live there and have to put up with complete idiots like you. As far as I am concerned the more rules the better to keep -------s like you away.And by the way--what the hell does "Pish" mean you dimwit?

------s like who? The person who got fined because other people threw cigarettes out near his front door? Me because my moped left a 3 inch oil spot? My neighbor who wanted to plant flowers on her patio? My other neighbor who got a big fine because some stranger parked in his parking spot and hopped the wall? My other neighbor because his bookshelf was partially blocking his window? Or what about people like me who try to report that someone else is parking in my spot but then all the HOA does is say "Listen, I don't get paid for this." Not to mention that my parking spot is halfway across the complex. And now there's a red van in the open spot in front of my apartment that has been there for 3 straight weeks. Oh, and guess who's van that is? It belongs to HOA. You tell me who the dimwit is now.
