After living two years in this appartment I received a bill from Mayan plaza for $1500 which included replacing the old carpets, removing the smell etc... I do not know what to do. In this exercise they smartly siphoned off my deposit and I have to pay over an above. I vacated this place because I bought a new house because the mortgage is less than the mayan rent. Can any body suggest what I should do other than paying off.

These people thrive on extortion. They will threaten you with huge bills, and if not paid threaten with reporting to credit agencies to spoil your credit. Once you decide to leave they will not entertain you at their office. They are very glad you are leaving, it gives them a chance to make some fast buck. They treat you like dirt and express it. Normally they say "get out" if you wish to discuss. Highly uncivilized cowards. If your bills are above $ 1000 no meaning of taking legal remedy as the quantum of compention if at all you win tghe legal battle is around $ 2000. With attoney fee and all it is not worth to. And the apartment people know that and make the bill accordingly.

I totally agree with the previous anonymous!!! Glad we are out of the geto. The manager is a modern day hitler with her faithful ----'s. She runs a gang and no one can get information out to the real owner who needs to know about all the deceit and drugs that are performed by her and her staff. If you are honest and upfront with this pill popping hitler she will eliminate you from the property and never be heard from again. Maybe channel 13 needs to come out again and dig a little deeper so this scam on honest and hard working people can be uncovered. Carma is a powerful thing.

That's it. They are just threats. They can't really do anything about it but send you a bill. I'm not planning on paying mine. They can stick it where the sun don't shine.

I would concentrate on how fortunate you are to be able to buy your own place - have rented for years--same game, different faces; nice until you sign the lease--and then managers turn into demons from hell.

Yes I agree with the previous posts. Recently I requested their permission to install the dish antenna for TV. They demanded a deposit of $ 200. I do not why they need depostit for that.

You're not alone guys....when we lived there in 2007 to 2008, we had the same situation as yours...we also wrote the President of the Co....as we were told by ------, the AM ...and OMG...you guessed it right!! it never reached the hands of the President....and you also guessed it right...Sally the P_ _ p manager "resolved" the issue/s according to her whims and caprices.....i hate her southern accent!!! yakkkkkk....they almost held us hostage there..until we decided to leave that stinkin place when we had the chance to...and yes, you're very right, we only got back $200 out of the $800 security deposit we made as they sent us a huge bill for carpet shampooing, in spite of the fact that they have just shampooed it about 5 mos. before we moved out ( we had no kids, no pets..and we're always out..so nobody would make the carpet dirty....i believe it's their maintenance guys who were responsible for the dirt, as they are our frequent visitors due to the frequent breakdown of airconditioners, etc..or just about anything...guess, what...it flooded twice in the master's bedroom bathroom!!!) ... maybe their conscience got them that's why they returned $200 to us, at least! and, take note, we hired help to clean the whole apt. before we left and it was mess-free...as we are very neat people...but they never spared us...they still got $600 cold cash from us...what a shame guys!!!

You need to contact the State Attorney Generals office and report that extortion. Don't pay it. Call Contact13
