Raise the rent every time your lease is up. 6, 12 mths doesn't matter make you feel like you are being black mailed to commit to a lease.

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002

Was burglarized, had the patio door (2-pane glass) shattered and broke into my apartment while on a weekend excursion to L.A.
Apartment manager never contacted me, no condolance or words of apology.

NOTHING! And it was never even reported to their on-site security, until I mentioned it to a guard 2 weeks later.

Since then my patio has been vandalized steeling plants etc..

Safe complex, until you go to sleep.
