Was decent when I moved in, but glad I moved out.

I lived here for over 2 years, and the old management made living at Oasis Place comfortable despite the bad neighborhood: the manager (Miranda Parker) was very friendly and accomodating, maintenance was prompt and helpful, rent was affordable, and security was somewhat visible.
HOWEVER, management changed in August 2005, and since then, rent has gone up significantly (it is now $600 -- doesn't include utilities and "renters insurance"), maintenance is not as speedy, security is rarely present (even when you call), and the manager (Richard Salvitti - sp') seems disorganized and is short when you deal with him.
More importantly, the neighborhood is BAD, and considered one of the worst, if not THE worst neighborhood in Las Vegas. Oasis Place is a short distance from "Crack Alley," several cars were broken into, my neighbor complained that another tenant was smoking crack and the smell seeped into his apartment, the mailbox looks beat-up, and on more than one occasion, drug addicts and other bums knocked on my door late at night asking for money. *I cannot emphasize enough that the area is riddled with crime.*
If you want to know just how bad the neighborhood is around Sierra Vista and Swenson, please read this article: http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/2005/08/11/featur I do not recommend this place. If you can, stay away from the whole neighborhood in general. It's definitely not worth your money.
