When You call with an issue, you get " ok it will be taken care of" in a don't bother me I'm too busy attitude kinda way and nothing gets done!!
Lights are out constantly, important lights, (like parking lot spotlights) Jacuzzi is never operating, Edwin has to be the worst,
he can never do anything, xcept take your rent. THAT he can do.Oh he can tell you there is nothing he can do, THAT he knows how to say.
Ellise will stand there and lie to your face with a smile, and then offer you a cookie! No, I don't want a cookie dear, I need you to take care of my apt issues!
I stay away from the rental office as much as possible, and avoid the employees like the plague, they get my blood boiling. There was a lot of construction in the street which seemed to go on forever. The same areas were being worked on, (hammer jack style) over and over, so I brought this to attention of the rental office. The response I got was "there's nothing we can do". So I suggested, maybe let the foreman of the project know the paying tenants are complaining, and would like to know when the project will be finished. Hello, represent your paying tenants!! Hello! (YA right,I ended up doing it myself).
So when it comes to the needs of the tenants, the office is helpless, but the needs of Oasis placed are certainly addressed. Not only did Oasis go into my Cox acct and discontinue my cable service without a warning, Oasis also promised a free month worth of cable, which of course I never received a full month as promised .When I addressed the issue with the manager, she seemed to be too busy to waste her time on trivial matters, and I never received a full month. Yet, when I made a few cent error in my rent check one month, there was a note on my door. (THE NEXT DAY) so I went back to the office and wrote another check for the couple of cents!!! GEEZ! THAT'S THE WAY YOUR GONNA GET TREATED.Your treated like royalty before you sign up, after you sign on, well good luck !
The gentleman who takes care of the repairs, is very nice, and needs to be running the office. He gets it!
I cant imagine why the owners don't look at this property and employ people who understand: people live here, and this is a business. How many times do the office folks need to be reminded: renters are paying to be here, and employees are getting payed to be here !! Oasis is not doing me a favor and putting a roof over my head for free! A little customer service might keep people around, and cut down on turnover costs. The units are adequate for the price. The rental office should be a place where people come together, not be divided. You can't put out a box of cookies and xpect a sense of community, when you don't address the issues. I don't like to use individual names, but these folks need to be called out!
To respond to daverites' response, yes the costs is cheap, but Oasis Place represents a larger Oasis chain, and judging by the way this place is run, makes me wonder if all the higher priced Oasis properties are run the same way. A majority of renters at this property are business professionals and quite possibly future residents of some of the other Oasis properties.

I lived in this place for 2 years and the rent is not cheap for what you get. When I was buying my house and i needed a couple extra months they jacked my rent up to almost $900. This after I lived here for 2 years. This place sucked.

Obviously, if one can afford to pay much higher rent, one can expect many more amenities, a higher class of tenants, and much more receptiveness to complaints. I, however, have had no problem getting maintenance to quickly remedy problems, everything works in my studio, and the building is quiet and relatively safe and attractive (considering the area. I've lived here six years.
But, of course, there's always room for improvement.

I think it's nice how you can call people out by name, but then keep yourself anonymous. And, I think you overestimate what people in the office are authorized to do. You said it yourself, it's a business, and there is a chain of command and federal laws that sometimes restrain the office in just how far they can go. Do you really think the construction workers would have stopped the jackhammering if someone from the office told them it was disturbing the residents? No, because that TOO is a business. It sounds like you weren't happy there. Maybe you should have left sooner.

WOW, your response sounds exactly like the kind of response I would get from a person in the office! Full of attitude, unsympathetic to renters needs, and to summarize, your saying "if you don't like it move". Sounds very familiar........ The construction project went on far too long and was managed very poorly. One spot was dug up and covered 6 times! Funny, when I pointed that out to the foreman and let him know that many of the residents to whom I spoke with had figured out what was going on,(stretching the work out and redoing same areas) the project mysteriously, was finished! It wasn't a difficult conversation.

I am about to move in on December 15th so far the office staff have gone out of there way to do everything i needed to get the lease papers done and get moving in including calling electric, cox, the renters insurence and more when they changed the apartment number on me (origional apartment i was moving into the person decided to stay) the rent is very reasonable for what you get. and its a camden apartment i have lived at other camdens yes some times there are problems but camden is one of the better management companies. some times thing are lax with the office but that happens everywhere i have been in vegas 5 years lived at many apartments and had much worse. for the fact that you get cable tv (part of rent) washer and dryer in the apartment and big tub rent is reasonable i am paying the same price for 1 bedroom (yes its bigger) but i pay cable tv ($10 more a month) dont have a washer and dryer in the apartment (pay for washing clothes) and office staff is rude and noise at my current place is so loud you cant sleep. i have been over to oasis place many times even at night and never heard or seen many people its aways quiet and the manager of the complex bret is great.
